broakie56After recently replacing my stock muffler with the 24" Sweet Thunder Resonators (with x-crossover) it made me realize a few things, especially after reading other past forums/posts on some concerns with interior heat. I'll get to the interior heat matter in a moment. What amazed me most, while replacing my stock muffler, just where the driveshaft was located and how high it was in the center hump/tunnel........what a different aspect when working underneath the Kat! Then pondering the location of the driveshaft while sitting in the drivers seat......this baby is spinning AT ENGINE RPM's just beside your thigh and buttocks......AND again, @ engine rpm's. WOW! Imagine this puppy rotating at these rpm's while pounding thru the gears.

Regarding the interior heat that some have expressed concerns with and never seeming to be able to rid of it, especially in the middle of the summer......it's absolutely understandable, especially after removing the stock muffler and finding out the darn thing is triangular shaped & with two sides of it hugging up inside the driveshaft hump/tunnel. The top of the muffler sits just below the bottom of the driveshaft and adjacent to the hump/tunnel walls. No darn wonder, the cell phone always felt so warm after removing it from the center console storage bin and also having to run the a/c on the floor mode.

Expect the interior temps to be somewhat cooler now after installing the Sweet Thunder resonator pipes.....now the driveshaft tunnel/hump cavity is opened up ten-fold! Now just have to tolerate the new awesome tone the Sweet Thunders generate.....wow! Just hope the driveshaft stays intact while pounding through the gears!

catfishi needed a good laugh today,cooler,ha,ha,ha.changing the muffler will not make it run any cooler.to keep the heat from penetrating the floor/tunnel,use- koolit-micro louver heat shield. 2 of the largest pieces they sell.they are pretty easy to install using tech screws and this stuff really works.use one piece at area where the firewall meets the frt floor and and the other piece right behind it.will cut heat penetration considerabley.also take one of the largest pieces and cut in half and wrap converter with it,using a large rad hose clamp to keep in place.it will not hurt the converter and will also cut down heat transfer.thermotec.com i believe is the web site.its called mirolouver heat shield.you will need 2 pieces for the floor and 1 for the converters.mine have been on 3 yrs.the heat coming from the engine and converters,is what really heats it up.the parts are not cheap but do work.depending on how much you want to spend,you can also install in tunnel also as far back as you want to go.
