------------------ I have a set of the original Dragon Panels and love the look. I get a lot of positive remarks on them and I am glad that others will be able to have them. I know your products are always high quality. Best of success in producing the "New and Improved" Dragon Panels. Don, Thank you for your support to Gary. I would also like to thanks all those POA members and to Mike K for all the help As all ways, for the love of the Prowler Thanks Gary and the Best Prowler site on the Web, the POA Without Wax.. But if you are trying to get the heat out from under the engine, I would think the opening should be farther back (closer to the door). It may not look as good but it would allow the air to flow across more of the engine before exiting the compartment. In simple terms, As the flow of the air passes across the vents at 90 degrees increases, on the Dragon Panels..it cause a negative pressure across the vents and air from the engine bay is evacuated... Proof....after driving with the panels on for 30 minutes or so, feel the Spears..They are very hot to the touch... Ask your self the question...Where did the heat come from? or... Bernoulli's principle thus says that a rise (fall) in pressure in a flowing fluid must always be accompanied by a decrease (increase) in the speed, and conversely, if an increase (decrease) in , the speed of the fluid results in a decrease (increase) in the pressure. This is at the heart of a number of everyday phenomena. As a very trivial example, Bernouilli's principle is responsible for the fact that a shower curtain gets ``sucked inwards'' when the water is first turned on. What happens is that the increased water/air velocity inside the curtain (relative to the still air on the other side) causes a pressure drop. The pressure difference between the outside and inside causes a net force on the shower curtain which sucks it inward. A more useful example is provided by the functioning of a perfume bottle: squeezing the bulb over the fluid creates a low pressure area due to the higher speed of the air, which subsequently draws the fluid up. I used this law every day in medical research to measure air flow when I was at McMaster University for 30 years Don McCormack This message has been edited by Northern Cat on 12-08-2008 at 10:28 AM ------------------ This message has been edited by Rocky Vander on 12-07-2008 at 11:47 PM This message has been edited by the alchemist on 05-16-2011 at 01:09 PM ------------------GaryE I am very happy to announce that I will be manufacturing and offering to the Prowler community the new and improve Dragon Panels originally made by Don McCormick. I want to thank Don for his help and support the past few months in our effort to again offer these great side panels to the Prowler owners.
The Dragon Panels will be hand laid fiberglass, the same high quality product I have always produced. The panels will be offered with and without the side marker lights. The aluminum darts will be offered in the basic machine finish and in chrome. There will be a improved reinforced rear/back side of the panels. I also hope to offer a light package that will be behind the grills. The price for the set of panels with the machine finish darts will be $1050, and $1125 with the chrome darts. I hope to be in production by mid January. I am sure that you will be very happy with the appearance and quality of the new Dragon Panels. Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions.BradleyG Gary, That is great news!!! Northern Cat I am so very happy that Gary will be making the "Gen 2 Dragon Panels",
with all the improvements to the construction, look and function of the Dragon Panels
and the input we received to bring the new Panels back to the POANorthern Cat For those who have not seen Dragon Panels ed monahan I am glad to hear that all worked out. Excellent job by all those involved. the alchemist Apart from the visual change these panels give the Prowler do the panels help reduce under bonnet temperature by allowing hot air to escape thru the grilled openings? Also is there some internal cover that stops water entering into the engine compartment thru the grilled openings? ed monahan The heat rolls out of the side of the panels. There is no water protection but the mesh cuts down on any water getting splashed up on them. katmat quote:

1. A law of fluid mechanics stating the relationship between the velocity, density, and pressure of a fluid. Mathematically, the law states that P + 1/2 v2 = constant, where P is the pressure (in newtons per square meter), is the density of the fluid (in kilograms per square meter), and v is the velocity (in meters per second). If no energy is added to the system, an increase in velocity is accompanied by a decrease in density and/or pressure. The law is directly related to the principle of conservation of energy. See also Bernoulli effect.
Bernoulli effect
The phenomenon of falling pressure in a fluid as the velocity of the fluid stream increases. The Bernoulli effect accounts for the lift generated by the airfoil shape of an airplane wing. See also Bernoulli's lawlift .Prowl 36 Would it be possible to have the cutout closer to the door and closer to the top for maximum heat dissapation? If so you can count me in, otherwise I will make a set for myself which I have already acquired a set for experimentation. Rocky Vander What about painting the panel's is that extra? And would you want payment first? ed monahan The aluminum panels on eBay sold for $ 1525.
I know Gary had a back up set to use for molds.
I am pleased with my Dragon Panels and have mixed emotions about more coming on the market. I like having a set of only 30 but I realize they will still not be common.the alchemist Thanks for replying to my questions, I like the look the panels give the Prowler, I just wanted to know if there were any other benefits. mccombcliff Gary,
Great looking the way they are...it would be nice to have a painted option. CliffGaryE I am set on the disign of the Dragon Panels and have no plans to change things. I also have a policy that I do not paint any of my products due to color match and shipping problems. Thanks for your inputs. Kevin A I need to start saving! I love the look of these panels and have wanted a set since I first saw them. Thanks for making them!
