koolktyJust recently acquired a 2000 yellow Prowler that only had 370 miles on it. I live in Michigan and had it shipped here from Florida. Bought it from Nick DeMartino of Sunshine Classic Cars in Lake Park, FL. Coolest old car gut I ever met. I only got to drive it for a couple weeks but now is prepped for storage in my garage. Had a couple questions if anyone could answer:

Where are the safest points to jack up the car? I worked with Nick on it and he suggested under the A-Arms, which we did, but only just enough to get the front wheels off the ground. If I want to get it up higher to put on jack stands, that just doesn't seem like a safe location to do it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I saw some posts about a possible 20th anniversary reunion next year in the U.S., but could not find where it will be. I would love to attend. Anyone know where and when it may be?

CJCongratulations on your new Cat and welcome to POA!!

I'm CJ and my husband is Bob (RPL on POA). We live in Rochester Hills, MI. We are hosting the 20th Prowler Anniversary event in June 2017. Would be a great way to meet the owners that will be attending.

Here is the link to all the info on the event! Maybe we can get together long before that to say hello!!! We aren't that far from Oxford!!!

ALLEY CATWELCOME to the POA...

There are two rubber type pads (one on each side) mounted on the frame behind the front wheels and just alittle further back,,,,,those are your front jack points. Around B on the frame rear for the 'rear' jack points.

CJHere is the other photo you posted that did not work. There was a space in the word image.

WildCatWelcome

Might be best to buy a service manual for your car. There are several people that have the factory manuals and well worth the purchase price. Actually much cheaper today than from chrysler back when new.

I have an extra 99 set but there are some changes would be best to get the correct year.

So the txt is larger it is best to resize pictures so they are not so big. Site will load the larger pictures but then you cannot read the text.

As far as jacking up the car. I have lifted mine under the a arm just to get tire off the ground. If you are wanting to raise it up higher than just clearing the ground would not recommend it. AC is right the plastic blocks on the frame are the front Jack points and the rear is the area in front of the rear wheel on the frame were the triangle opening is and the frame is all welded together.

I wouldn't Jack it up for the winter and let the wheels hang if that is why you are asking.

Many have 4 post lifts to raise the car for service or storage. BEST WAY to raise it. Then if you need the tires off the ramp use Jack bridge to lift from lifting points.

Enjoy your car. Use the search to look for important info or ask if you don't find it.

In the 16 + years POA has been here we have talked about everything you will probably think of. Many of us have been here for the entire 16 years.

koolktyThank you all for the quick replies and advice! CJ, I grew up in Rochester Hills so I know it well. Would definitely like to meet you all. Unfortunately I just got my Kat prepped and hibernating in my garage; I haven't had much time to get to know her yet. Each year at around the time of your event there is a car show for Chrysler employees at the Chrysler museum, so it sounds like you may be referring to the same thing?

WildCat, For whatever reason the previous owner of my Prowler only had a 97 owners manual; I am considering ordering a '00 owners and service manual once I start really working on it in the spring.

CJDon't have to have the Prowlers out to meet!!! One of mine is still on the hoist in the bag (never got it out this year....really busy). The Candy Cat is still out of the bag!!! lol!

I'll private message you with my contact info!!!

padrooHere is a jacking diagram that may help.

Take your hand while at the rear of the front fender and reach under the side panel and you will feel the rubber or plastic block that is bolted to the frame that is meant for jacking.

The Prowler manual warns never jack from the suspension.

jimsuttonFirst thing to do is get new tires .those are 16 Years old
koolktyJim, yes I have considered that but I don't think you can get run-flats in those sizes anymore. Unless you know if anyone still makes them.
jimsuttonrun flats ? You can get a better ride with out them .took mine off yeas ago . Old tires can come apart even if they look good . I have had it happen to me and it can really tear up a car . be careful and enjoy you new ride ..
mslc10Someone can probable help you find a center cap for the front wheel.
Oh btw yellow IS the fastest color!
Welcome!!
koolktyVery observant on the picture. I lost that wheel cap the day I got it home; flew off on my first ride when I got it shipped to Michigan. I have already replaced it via the Prowler Store with the upgrade rubber ring to make sure it won't fly off again. I have since mailed in the other three to the prowler store to have them upgraded as well.
jwallisKoolkty in the future check out the Prowler Mall ,and the supporting vendors on this site. You will get a better quality product and be helping support the POA. For instance Dick Linneman will repair four center caps for $100.00
RPLkoolkty....nice meeting you!

Ask us before buying stuff or getting any service. Dick Is the one that came up with the fit, cut out the middle man send direct to Dick, you will be happy you did.

koolktyI had a chance to meet CJ and Bob Longstreth last night and they set me straight regarding the POA mall versus the non-POA Prowler store. As a newbie I haven't learned all I need to know yet. I already mailed in my old wheel caps for repair but now know to get my advice here before buying anything else in the future.

Take a look in here. http://prowlercar.com/venders/

BeWareCongrats and welcome

Welcome, Prowler looks great
quincyHello and welcome to this fine family!
koolktyWondering if anyone can help me find the following:

1. Replacement front sway bar end links and all four rear/toe camber link bushings. When I had the car inspected at a Chrysler dealer soon after I got it home, they found these parts were rusted and falling apart, but claimed the car was still safe to drive in the short term (car is in storage now). Chrysler no longer has them in stock. They are willing to install them if I can find replacements.
2. Headrests that can slip over the hoop on top. I had neck surgery a few years ago, and not having adequate head support will be a problem on longer trips.
3. Looking for inserts for the recessed lettering on the back bumpers to make them stand out better. Yellow or chrome would be nice.
4. Color-matched interior trim (obviously yellow in my case), in particular the oval door panels above the armrests, and possibly the trim around the center air vents and radio.
5. Chrome covers for the front A-Arms.

robinthe front links can be bought through spoons.

Four links for rear. (You don't need rocker bushings.)

as for the other stuff some can only be found here...

ed monahanIf you take the rear bumpers off, it is really quite easy to paint the indented letters. Sandy used finger nail polish as it is thicker and won't run as easily.
You can get head rest covers that attach with three velco strips and work really well.
