SSSydowI had the dealer install the Mopar/Borla system. Took it back because one tip was much lower than the other. After correcting that, there is a tremendous vibration when I step on the gas that seems to reverberate under the console area but it's very loud and annoying. All the hooks are still on the rubber grommets. There is a lot of sway side to side at the tips though I don't see the mufflers or pipes touching any metal.
Any ideas?
idiveI've noticed tip sway on many of the cars with borla exhaust when following them. I've wondered if this is common to the system, or if it is just from certain installs? First I've heard of the vibrator effect tho.

R RodenfelsInstalled my system a month ago, bit of a challenge getting it adjusted to my satisfaction. After initial install drove it a few miles went back and adjusted it, you can rotate each section to clear frame and rear suspension. Had to lift car several times and adjust. System was not in same location when supported on the lift as when wheels were supporting the Prowler. Eventually got it and no rattle, same measurement from exhaust tip to bumper on each side. Looks and performs great!

Steve TI had a similar problem when I installed the MOPAR exhaust. I found that the right pipe was just tapping the the rear suspension arm under acceleration. The sound really seemed louder and "felt" like it was more than just an exhaust pipe. I just loosened the clamps and rotated the pipe fore a little more clearance and that fixed it.

What dealer did the install?

If you want to take the Prowler out for a little ride, come on out to Weatherford and we can put it up on the Double Park Lift (thanks to the POA group buy) and take a look at the exhaust with pressure on the suspension. Bet we can find the problem.

Neal at Bankston Chrysler did the install. Hate to take it back if it's something I can fix in 2 min. Thanks for the offer. My parents live in Aledo so if I still have the problem next time I visit them, I may take you up.
GRROWLI just installed the Mopar/Borla and may be able to help.

When I installed it, I backed GRROWL onto ramps. This meant that the rear of the car was in the normal geometry with full weight on the suspension. I noticed that the muffler was touching one side of the "tunnel" below the driveshaft.

Before tightening the clamps, I pushed the muffler toward the center and twisted on the pipes to favor that centered position. After tightening, I pushed in all directions to make sure that the range of motion couldn't hit anything.

If you go through this process, you should be able to confirm that the range of motion on the rubber hangers will not allow hitting anything (and the orientation should be maintained if you use ramps at the rear rather than lifting the frame).

catfishmickey,youre not alone on vibration.mine has a billy boat stainless system.first the frt.of muffler cracked at pipe.replaced muffler,vibrated so bad couldnt stand it.another new muffler,reinforced at frt.this time, cracked again, at rear this time.welded crack and reinforced rear.have vibration again.going to change all 4 rubber mts,because they are worn.if vibration is still there,probably another muffler install.these v6s vibrate like crazy,enough to crack the mufflers.

EdsCatI just put Prowler Pro headers, gears and it is great. I have had the Borla system on my car for about 3 years now. When we were installing the headers, we noticed several 'cracks' in the cats and the mufflers around the inlet and outlet pipes. We welded up the cracks/seams and put a couple of stablizing brackets on the tailpipe and weled them to the frame. The whole stock Borla system has way to much movement in it. The whole assembly - muffler and tail pipes wobble with every bump. Over time it causes the seams to crack. The straps has stopped this wobble. Works well - after 3,000 miles, it is solid.

EdsCatI am going back to Tampa on Labor Day weekend to the place that put on my headers and repaired my Borla system. We are going to put Lake Pipes on the Prowler. At that time I will take some pictures of the whole setup and post back here on the site.
