| BeWare | I’m betting he is someone who paid way over sticker as many if not most did in 97 and only purchased it as an investment. A 23 or 24 year old car with only 288 will likely have many issues when the new owner actually starts to drive it. There have been many such stories posted here that support my theory. In my mind he was foolish at having his reserve set so high. Probably trying to minimize a loss. Sorry if I offend anyone but it’s JMO. |
| Stray Cat | A 97 has never been on my radar - engine choice leads me to 1999 - 2002. BUT, there is NO doubt that the Purple and satin wheels, is still heart pounding cool. Just look at that car! |

I heard rumors of people paying $80k-ish for the 97's way back when cuz they thought they'd be instantly collectible. I bet they were pissed when Mopar decided to bring it back in '99.

| Stray Cat | I would be interested in how many of the 3.5 engines, Prowlers, that have actually had "CAT-a-strophic" failure when the timing belt was NOT changed. Who out there, blew their engine up because they DID NOT change the belt ? And, if you have your belt replaced in 2020, how were you assured it was not manufactured in 2000 and sat in a non temperature controlled shed in OK or TX or FL ? |
| BeWare | Isn’t the Prowler engine the same as the 300M? They get allot more use than a Prowler. Has there been reports of a 300m breaking timing belts? |

| padroo | Here is a link from a Chrysler 300 forum where the timing belt broke. I didn't see where mileage or time was mentioned.

It tells you when to change oil and all other maintenance items so why question the timing belt. We know we can go further on oil changes and other maintenance items but do we? | Stray Cat | Agree, Padroo. Again, Interference engine. And especially if you plan to do some, or have done some performance mods. Again, I would wonder how old that rubber belt that they put in really is..... that's one I would have to check. |

Dale I think you said you did yours in 2011, it has been 10 years, are you going to do yours again now? If the new belt you put in had been on shelf a couple years, your current belt could be older then the original belt you replaced? |
