Frank | Hi guys, I am taking your advice and installing flaps. Rear were a piece of cake. The Front??????????? Where are the jacking points for the Kat and how do the center caps come off without breaking...Thanks For the help.... Frank |
Steve T | This may or may not be the "right" way but this worked for me. I cut a 5 inch long piece of a 1x4 to use between the floor jack and the lower "A" arm. I placed this as close to the front wheel as possible. Then I slowly jacked it up enough to allow clearance for the tire to come out from under the fender. Steve |
ed monahan | Jack it up from the side, just behind the front wheel. There is a pad just inside the rocker panel. If all else fails, look in the owner's manual. ------------------

jpo350 | While there is a place for the jack just down from the side market light, I couldn't get a jack under the car. I used SteveT's method, and it worked great. Just barely clear the floor.------------------ Joe Powell Denton, TX jp51@att.net |
ed monahan | It has been so long I forgot about the low clearance. I drove the front tires up on a 2 x 4 to raise the entire car and get enough clearance to get the jack under the pad. ------------------

KatAddict | I always jack mine under the A Arm with a piece of wood also, never had any problems. Keep it as close to the wheel as possible ------------------

MIKE GATLIN | I am able to use the jack point pad on the frame behind the wheel, but always use a couple of 2x4 blocks between the jack and pad to make sure there can be no contact between the jack and body panel. Be certain that the blocks cannot make contact body panels on the frame side while raising the car. ------------------ Ceramic brake pads, should have done it sooner, flaps down front and rear, Hot Wheels steering wheel cover, logo valve stem caps..otherwise OUT OF THE CRATE STOCK...FOR NOW! |
CWatsonJr | This is what my tech told me to do if I wanted to raise both wheels and use jack stands. There is a brace between the wheels (in the front). I cut a 2x4, I think 18" long and used it to spread the load. I jacked the car up far enough so that I could put jack stands under the rubber pads behind the front wheels and then let it down easily. That gave me plenty of clearance. good luck. ------------------ Cliff Watson

Scot Stern | Dear Frankie, I'm old but I was able to get my frail hands between the tire and fender and actually installed the flaps without having to take off the wheel. I won't say it was easy, but it was not to difficult to accomplish. I used Locktite and everything worked as it was supposed to. Simple procedure but important results. You do not want to drive the car without the flaps. Gotta run as the Bonanza rerun with Little Joe and Hoss is on where Hoss rides his horse into Ben's Cadillac and dents his side view mirror. Wy. Easy Ryder | Mr. Scott, I find your humor so exciting. But then I wonder, if one date with you, who or what would be left standing? I'll ponder that alittle longer. ------------------ I ride shotgun in a cat on cruises, who am I? |
