http://www.prowleronline.com/scrapbook/newscrapview.php?id=37 John had it painted twice,,,,since the rocks ate up the first painting....they lived on a gravel road Believe John told me that the paint cost $800 pint....plus the labor to shoot it. Won Best in Show during the PHX GoodGuys national car show meet in 2000 Notice all of the color changes the cat goes through as the camera angle and light hit the finish. While in the metro PHX area after its paint job was finished, this cat got lots of ATTENTION! This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 07-25-2015 at 09:45 PM It did make it worth those kind of dollars back in 2000, 2001, 2002, and maybe into 2003.....but not now, 15 years later. jmo John had the hardtop installed, custom upgraded exhaust, NOS bottle system, RealRod rear pan, deep gears installed, and expensive hood work done in addition to the hi-dollar paint work. Back in 1999/2000,,,I can't imagine the amount of dollars John had put into that car....probably after paying a big premium just to buy it 'new' back in the early days of trying to get a Prowler. True,,,,Depending on the sunlight and from which angle one is looking at that cat, it changes colors quite often.....Due to cost of paint, one of a kind. Thanks for the report....how is the weather today? Steve, Congrats. Any way you can stop in GA on your way back home with the new Cat? We have a spare bedroom. I'll even pull the caddie out and let you park it in the garage. This message has been edited by BeWare on 09-09-2015 at 03:19 PM Anyone have John Ross' contact info? I have a few questions I'd like to ask him... CONGRATS Steve! PM sent about John's contact #'s ..... It started as a Yellow and has had 6 owners. The chrome illusion is now called "flip/flop" paint. lol NullMind 50k ??? JeraneW Very nice car. I used the chrome illusion paint on part of my PT Cruiser. Always got lots of attention. I am surprised that it isn't used more often; I guess because it was so expensive. ALLEY CAT John & Debbie Ross' Chromealusion Prowler padroo That is a true custom paint job. BeWare It is in fact an awesome paint job but does it make the car worth 50K. Not in my opinion. Just saying. ALLEY CAT quote:

We were walking so I could not get close. But if it was not it, it sure had the identical paint scheme, but with a brownish nose. But from what I remember about the car it all depended on what angle you looked at it to determine the color. So I am pretty sure that was it. ALLEY CAT "But from what I remember about the car it all depended on what angle you looked at it to determine the color." jd2ksilver Sunny, they said 50 % chance of rain but none coming yet. DublinOH This car now has a new home, well eventually. Wally was nice enough to help me out with the purchase. It's being stored until the FL Keys cruise, then Amanda and I are going to fly down, enjoy ourselves and time spent with the FL prowler owners (and Monahan too), and then drive it back up north. Anyone have John Ross' contact info? I have a few questions I'd like to ask him... BeWare quote:
