I recently started my '99 for the first time in a while. Took it for a short drive and all seemed fine. It has 30k on the clock. I turned it off, and went to start it again within a few minutes. Started right up, but then shut off within two seconds. Odd... Started again, fired right up, but then shut off within a few seconds once more. Went to start it for a third time and won't even crank. Most gauges aren't working either. Had it towed to a local garage, they checked everything and are telling me the PCM is bad, but do not see a PCM code stored. If I remember correctly they stated PIN 34 on the PCM is supposed to read at 5 ohms and instead it is reading 52,000 ohms.... Long story short they are stating that the computer is not telling the engine to crank. They are suggesting a replacement PCM, which do no exist anywhere. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance! Tony Goertz. That being said I would talk to Tony first This message has been edited by dskatt on 09-24-2020 at 10:17 PM CGD1985 Hoping Someone has seen this before. ZuluProwler I offer two words of advice: mslc10 I’d check fuel pressure first......do you hear the fuel pump run and build pressure when you first turn the key to ‘run’ not ‘start’ but just ‘run’? dskatt I have no firsthand experience with this company but others have had their pcm repaired by them with good results. http://www.bgperformance.com/ JH I'm still going through my problems with the PCM. I'll advise when it gets figured out. PCM maybe the worse thing to go on a prowler because there isn't any replacements.
