ed monahan	Just heard on the news that Ipad track your EVERY move and can be tracked, not just when you are using it. It gives longitude and Latitude and can be tracked by a computer. BIG BROTHER is watching you.
idive	ipad, ipod, iphone... and the ipeople have no icomment.
ALLEY CAT	No comment on the i-technology,,,,,but Ed you will remember several years back I mentioned that ON STAR was developed more so for GMAC to track down vehicles that the owners were not paying their payments on, than the use they protrayed on ads promoting how it would help you unlock your car, call emergency vehicles, etc. etc.
fibertop	Ed, I beleive this is true of any cell phone.
SuperKat	Not really news but it made a splash. cell phones, GPS, even some cameras all track you.
ed monahan	On Star won't tell us where cars are to repo. they might give it to law enforcement to catch a crook but so far they won't release it to banks, etc. A local dealer puts a GPS in all the cars that they sell on the buy here, pay here plan. It has a means to disable the car so they can't drive it, also. I know almost all cell phones have GPS in them and they can track you by which cell tower your phone is pinging off of but apparently the new ones give an exact location. I don't think the regular cell phones are anywhere near that accurate. Locally a guy picked up a young girl in KY. who has never been seen since he picked her up. He claimed he dropped her off and went home but his cell phone was pinged off of a tower about 50 miles east of Cincy in OH. They haven't been able to charge him with the murder yet but they violated his parole. They haven't found the girl and it has been 4 or 5 months. If your phone is turned off it wouldn't show where you were. I wonder if the Ipads still show where you were.
alrtg	I have had the same cell phone for about nine years and it still has the original battery in it (unlike the Kat). Maybe "old tech" is the way to go in this modern world.
idive	Tonight's news it to tell how you can disable this from your iphone. They said to disable it, you have to have an app not approved by apple called untracked. Howard	If you turn off the phone they probably can't locate you. On the Apple Iphone they say you can turn off Location Services. The only problem with this, many of the iphone apps will not work.
