Stray CatI am thinking about driving with the Hardtop on to Woodward. Question:

1) I bought the Hardtop to take on short trips and to have the car look Cool. Should I drive 4 hours + with it on.... I do like to drive with the top down (not in this heat though....also, car is a bit louder with the Gears installed at 70 MPH).

2) If I wanted to take it off at Woodward, I guess the only thing to do would be to store it in the Room ?

Advice ?

Thanks,

PS. I have never gotten it to fit right - It is a newer top - will the revised Pins Help ?

392HEMIJohn, from what David Vou Casovic says there is more head room and it stays cooler and he drove his to Tulsa, think Tom -Snoman leaves his on too.
I am sure you can get help removing and repalcing in Detroit and probably store it in one of the haulers that will be there. JMO
WildCatUh John, I'll store it in my Car hauler for you and hope you forget WHO HAS IT...........LOL
Stray CatLarry,

Uh, I don't think the paint will match your car very well......

Bob MillerI'm driving with my hardtop on all the way from Virginia. I may store it in my room or someone's car hauler (if they let me).

It cuts down on the noise (I also have gears) and I think it is cooler inside. I also like the look. I drove to Louisville last year with it on and had no problems.

My hardtop is on most of the time, I have driven 12 hours striaght with no problems, one thing I'd do is make sure the rear deck lid seal is wiped clean of any dust or road grit & spray some spray silicone on a rag and wipe it well in to the seal.

A safe trip to all going to Woodward.

I never did get the Deck Protector...... Will the top scratch it without it on there ?

ed monahanJohn, I have done both. We took it into the room in PA but I have stored it in hauler trailers a few times. It cuts down on road noise and it is still supposed to be really hot next week. I was not planning on taking the hardtop, but now I am thinking about it.
SuperDaveI made the drive from Texas last year with my hard top on and I was very happy that I did. When I arrived I took it off and stored it in my room without an issue. I drove through driving rain on the way up and back, it was nice to not have to deal with the usually leaky top on the drive!

I need the extra headroom and I love the fact that it is a bit quieter in the cabin. I'm bringing mine for sure!

Dave

Northern CatI was thinking the same thing ED...and If it's top down weather

I'm sure I will be able to find a home for it

Drive safe ....

SuperKatJohn, go ahead and store it in Larry's trailer. It will match my car so I'll be able to buy it from him at a great price. I almost got a yellow go kart that way.

Only thing, you have to forget it is in Rich's or was that Eddie's trailer that you stored it in.

keesHello John,

Take it with you to Woodward and sell it to me at reasonable
cost at the event

Best,

Kees

Stray CatWow ! So many nice and helpful people on this site all wanting to help me with the Hard top.... even when it doesn't match their car. What a group !

So if I need some cash to buy some extra stuff up there it looks like I could sell the top.... unless of course I forget where I left it, in who's trailer etc. Looks like I better find some way to put my initials on it !

Regards,

John
