Ronald Heintschel | Hi For anyone that has installed a set of G Force Gears i have a question Was the speedometer adapter set or did you have to set it and if you had to set it could you please tell me the setting you used Installed a set last weekend on Dave car but the speedometed does not work Checked all the connections and to make sure the connections were good i soldered then Thanks Ron |
BradleyG | Ron, Double check your ground wire. You can attach the ground wire to one of the screws on the u shaped bracket for the top tie down. Be sure to scrape the paint off where your terminal lug touches the car. That was my problem when mine didn't work. Good luck. Brad |
Ronald Heintschel | Brad Did you first hook it up to the ground wirs in the harness for the controler in the back of the car per the instructions Thanks Ron |
BradleyG | Hi Ron, Yes, but when It didn't work, I called Dean (I installed Prowler Pro Gears) and this was his suggestion and that fixed my problem. A couple of months ago, someone else had the same problem and the ground fix also took care of his (Can't remember who it was). Moving the ground wire was easy. You could probably add an extra jumper for the ground. I wouldn't think an extra ground wire would cause any problems. Perhaps Tony could respond with some input. Good luck!! Brad |
Ronald Heintschel | Hi Brad Talked to Tony today and he told me what to check for so Wedensday Dave is comming over and will check it out Thanks Ron |
cnilejr | I recently installed the gears and had the same problem. Hard wire and solder the ground wire. Don't use the clips provided. They just don't work!! I can almost promise you that will fix your speedo. problem. Corey |
Ronald Heintschel | All of the connection were soldered Thanks |
Ronald Heintschel | Followed Tony suggestions and the speedometer works Thanks to all of you for your help Ron |
BradleyG | Ron, Glad you got it going, but tell us what was wrong. It may be me next time. |
Ronald Heintschel | Tony told me to take the speedometer adapter apart and move the little switches back and forth Thats all i did and now it works Must have been a switch that did not make contact their are 14 little switches and you have to use a little screwdriver to move them |
spoons | I guess it pays to buy the real thing (Prowler Pro) |
