DaveT | Well, after many years of waiting, lots of highs and lows and many life lessons learned, I am once again a proud Prowler owner. Many would remember me as 2K1Orange, now its simply DaveT. I can't wait to get back into the swing of things and reconnect with friends and connect with new ones!! I picked up a 2002 Candy about a week or two ago, and I don't have to tell any of you just how great it feels to be back behind the wheel of one of these cars.

DaveT | Thanks everyone! Its feels amazing to be back! So.....the story.... I have been looking for another ever since I sold my orange many years ago. I knew there would be another, just not sure when. Every time I was ready to buy life thru a curve ball at me, so it got pushed back, certain responsibilities always came first. Around 2 months ago, I started looking yet again. Ebay, random car sites, and many others. I found a few that were tempting, but not right. I just didn't get that feeling. I found a 2001 Orange again, 1 owner, 8,000 miles, priced right. Drove about an hour to see it and once I got there, it looked nothing like the pictures. The car wasn't cared for, it was a shame! Still, after the trip, I had to drive it. While on that test ride I knew i wasn't buying that one, but I now knew I had to get another......and soon. Maybe a week later I found the candy in NY. Lots of phone calls, emails and texts later, I took the 3 hour drive to see it. This one looked better than the pictures! you can tell it was well cared for. No curb rash on the nose, no typical wear marks in the top, passenger seat looks like it was never sat in, extremely low miles, still on factory tires!!! I knew within 2 minutes that if I didn't buy this car I would kick myself forever. That was a Thursday, it was in my driveway on Tuesday! I still check the garage a few times during the day like a little kid! LOL Anyway, I will stop rambling, Thank you again! |
ed monahan | Good story and glad you were wise enough to pass on the orange. |
Landscape Doctor | It's amazing when you get that feeling of knowing it's right,,,, it's almost anything in life. Intuition rules. Congrats again, awesome Prowler. quote: Originally posted by DaveT: Thanks everyone! Its feels amazing to be back!So.....the story.... MDProwler | Well Dave, I got got your PM which led me to this post. I’m soooo glad you didn’t get the Orange one. You would want to buy back the side panels and grill, lol. It certainly has been a while. I haven’t aged a bit but the rest of the group has just gone to hell. What can I say?😂😂. Well check out the event section and see if you can get onboard for this fall. There are lots of new owners out there and still plenty of old ones too. |
DaveT | Gary, we could always paint the parts! LOL Glad to hear you found the fountain of youth! I will keep an eye on upcoming events, looking forward to them! |
alprowl | Crazy question but, do you know where the car was purchased? My local dealer had a candy in his showroom back in 2002, and I know that I have pics of it there. Just interested if that is the car |
DaveT | It very well might be. This was offered for sale in NY at a place called Adirondack Auto in Elizabeth NY. Was first sold to an individual in CT. I would love to see the pics in the showroom if we are talking about the same car. Thanks in advance. This message has been edited by DaveT on 04-10-2023 at 02:08 PM |
alprowl | If that was the original ship to dealer, then it’s not the same car. My local dealer (that I sold my CP franchise to) was ADZAM auto sales, in Bedford Hills NY |
