Where can I get a new one? It's just naugahide with a wire insert at the rim. Any upholstery shop could make one from your old one. Good luck with your search! $168 charge for the boot, plus install labor I argued that one out, saying possible exhaust fumes could enter the cabin making for a dangerous health/driving situation. After some phone calls by the Serv. Mgr. back to Mich. ,,, they decided to waive all charges. Pricey item. When I look at the bottom of it I can't see how to reattach it into the hole. This message has been edited by beachcat on 06-09-2014 at 08:36 PM That part, I have (Boot only). If you come up empty, let me know. This message has been edited by beachcat on 06-10-2014 at 06:25 PM Your posts are probably broken. The part does not lend itself well to repair either. Unless you can order a new one, I'd say you are screwed. Speaking of screwed, you could get away with something like the following picture. It might not look that great but if done carefully it could look not bad Really a lousy part. Here is the bottom with the pleather stapled on Looks like I'll have to go with "plan b" and drill some holes and put some screws in. ------------------robbieb Mine doesn't seem to "attach" anymore and is just sitting in place. Which means hot air coming up through there. beachcat Is it torn or did it just pull out? I think it must be torn because they are pretty tight, the way they are held in there. ALLEY CAT I had one which came apart under the shift bezel... Car was still in warranty stage, but Chrysler didn't want to honor free replacement saying it was an appearance item. Marty Usher I had one made by an upholstery shop and then made one myself in light gray leatehr when I changed colors of my interior. Just used heavy gage wire as a frame on the bottom and adhesive to hold it on the console robbieb Mine appears to be pulled out. beachcat sorry, I was thinking you were talking about the shifter boot. My mistake. robin Great knowledge shared Roger and you didn't have hit or slander or insult anyone with your wonderful help.
That's the way this should work.
Helpful friendly advice. Thank you.robbieb Yeah, this is my emergency brake boot...not the shifter boot. beachcat quote:

Yeah, this is my emergency brake boot...not the shifter boot. beachcat I checked this out today and the bad news is, there is no good news. The brake boot has a plastic frame that it is stapled to. The frame is molded to the shape of the console and has 5 plastic posts that fit into corresponding holes in the console. We all know what happens to plastic posts after 14 years.
Here is the plastic frame, posts are broken off.beachcat Those who still have theirs still in tact, treat this part with kid gloves. I could see a child or even a dog stepping on in and breaking it. The plastic posts are only 1/8" thick. robbieb Thanks for the info beachcat. beachcat the red marks are where screws ( 1" max) will not interfere with anything. The part is upside down in this pic. catfish screw it on,lls. beachcat whats your solution, mouthpiece.
