49 NorthWell here it is spring again in Canada and I'm wanting to
pull the Prowler out. However last summer I was informed my ECM was dead. Not firing on all coils due to software issues.
I have been unable during the winter to track one down. There was rumours Chrysler was bringing them back off
back order but that has not happened. Looks like I will have to purchase one from the prowler store.
Any thoughts or comment would be appreciated.

Kent

phil2237I can't speak for Canada, but they are now available here in the U.S.

We just had a post a couple months ago where part numbers were posted, you may have to do a search for the post, but they are available thru Chrysler
robinI tried several places....
Call tasca based out of california and he said nothing for a 99 D\C RL815905AG.
I even call 2 Chrysler dealers here nothing.....

If anyone can call around the states a see where they are that would help....
prowler store is 1400 I do believe... http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-mopar/rl815905ag...

nice price if they had them.... good luck...

phil2237I will give our Dealer a call tomorrow
49 NorthI really appreciate the help.
I have phoned the Chrysler dealers here no luck. I also contacted Chrysler Canada customer care no luck. I have found several sites who list the part number but call and no stock.
Still have my fingers crossed.
phil2237I talked to the parts department at Don A Vee Jeep, (They just changed their name, don't know the new name , ) But the phone number is 714 793 0950. Ask for Jacob. There are 3 available in the U.S. right now. They will have to be ordered & it will take 3 to 4 days for it to get there. He is expecting your call. Any problems, feel free to PM me, if I can help in any way. When you call him, have your Vin available to give him.

Tony GoertzFYI - I found vintage parts www.vpartsinc.com has original computers for 1997 prowlers for only $651. Way less than any other supplier.

Check with them and hope they also have some for newer years.

49 NorthWell looks like if I had a 1997 or 2000+ I would be set.
I called Jacob and the new part # I require is RL815905AG no stock!
Still looking.
beachcat49 North, FYI, we recently put a 2002 Canadian ECM in a 99 US prowler and it worked with no issues whatsoever. It was Edcat"s car God rest his soul.
Tony GoertzDoes anyone know what difference there may be between a 99 ,2000, or newer PCM. I have never seen any difference.
There could be some programming differences, ie fan on/off temp, timing or even fuel map but that would just make a 2002 run like a 1999 or vice versa. Wouldn't expect any problems.
robinThis was just posted in the prowler reproduction discussion section.

Just got the Check Engine Light, Code PO 601- Internal Control Module Memory Check - Sum Error. In short you need a new PCM(ECM). It still ran fine but, from other postings It will just die one day. Don't get ripped off here are the part #'s and current prices from MoPar Parts On Line.
Org# New #
(1999)4815905AG - RL815905AG - $474.78 + 100.00 core
(2000)4727907AC - R4727907AC - $558.22 + 75.00 core
(2001)4686966AA - R4686966AA - $594.38 + 125.00 core
(2002)4748288AA - R4686966AA - $594.38 + 125.00 core
You can install it yourself and have it programed between
$89.95 to $125 depending on dealer, but you'll have to have
it towed to the the dealer, it won't run until its programed. Or and this is the better deal have the dealer install it and program it for around $210 and it is warrantied for 2 years or 24,000 miles. Like my Prowler will ever see 24K in two years. I just did this and it was in and out in a couple of hours. Safe Driving, and Keep the Shinny Side Up. Rob

49 NorthThanks for all the help.

49 NorthRobin

Thank you for the response.
I was told by the dealership the unit was not repairable?
I could send it out and let them have a look at it.

Hi Buddy!
Did you notice if they carry one for my 97?
I couldn't locate the part number.
Thanks my friend.

49 NorthSorry I did not look for that year or part number. But I find a lot of these sites list stock until you actually call and find out otherwise.
