Tim I am hearing some things about not using them on the back. Any factual information you could give me would be appreciated.

Dave MillsI have not done the rear pads, mainly because I don't seem to have a dust problem there. There were some previous posts that the rear rotors were of a different material, but nothing has been confirmed yet, to my knowledge.
GARY J FEBONew pads on front solved dust problem...No dust problem in rear....I say if it aint broke, dont fix it!!
Tim Sigh. Back gets brake dust too. Dont want to clean them as much. Anyone have an actual answer?

WildCatTim,

The rear rotors are aluminum.

I have chrome wheels on the rear of mine and yes some dust but not like the front. I have the pads for the front but will leave the rear alone.

Tim Well, I looked at them and the CENTER is aluminum, I dont think the actual rotor is different. My front rotors are showing some rust, so I am having the centers painted aluminum in color to match the rear.

I dont see a problem, Ill ask my body man today what he thinks. I dont see a problem myself

prwlynJust to make clear what is on the back for rotors on the Prowlers. They are called a "composite" rotor, what that means is the hub section is cast aluminum and then they press a steel ring on to it. The steel ring is where the pads run so technically the front and rear are the same as to where the pads ride. My belief is that while they have different part numbers for the rear pads, they do have the ceramic ones for the back.

Tony GoertzFred - Can the rear ring be made out of stainless steel. I tried a magnet on both front and bad disks. Sticks to front and not back. Is stainless steel magnetic?
