tangled up in BLUE...cassette tapes were just starting to get popular in the early 1970's....I purchased my first cassette deck for a car in 1973 and my first home cassette recorder/player in 1972

DON WIEBERwe use them once in awhile. this last summer we bought the cassette adapater for my ipod. now i have all my old records on it with over 12 hrs of great music.
fibertopI bought a bunch at a garage sale and they all broke. Storage is key as the tape dries out and snaps.
alrtgI have the same problem with my 8 Track tapes lately.
idiveThose cassettes and 8-tracks can be easily repaired when they snap. Just a thin strip of tape on both sides and you're good as new. I repaired a cassette just last sunday that way and have done many repairs on both in the past.

JeraneWAndria: Now I know where my collection of 8-track tapes went!
HawaiianMine came with an 8 track, but when the tracks jump, I just fold and wedge a book of matches in the opening. Its usually "Aero Smith" that jumps.
Cruzing music on cassett: Eagle, Jackson Brown ,Jimmy Buffett and when feeling nasty... Jethro Tull's Locomotive Breath !
