Sent you some email. ------------------ This message has been edited by Kroooozer on 01-16-2006 at 01:54 AM Snooozer - when I seen the Union Jack, I thought you lived in England. It is Kroooozer not Snooozer.. Now your reading stuff that ain't there. I read Snowman in an earlier post and it was Snoman. It's a guy thing I guess... LOL They drive on the wrong side of the road there,,,,that wouldn't matter to Geno,,,, he pulled a train once, and was the caboose on another They drive on the wrong side of the road there,,,,that wouldn't matter to Geno,,,, he pulled a train once, and was the caboose on another Not sure how many rail crossings it converts too....lol but it is around 1700miles......I found this comparison if anyone is interested....our population is only 20 million in the 6th largest country (largest island). So we have 20 million in a land area not much smaller than the US. Australia's Size Compared Whilst the areas of Canada and the United States are similar to Europe, their populations are markedly smaller, by factors of eighteen (3 persons per km2) and two (29 persons per km2) respectively. Australia is not far behind in size, but its population compared to Europe is 30 times smaller. Japan's population density is 336 persons per km2 and the United Kingdom's is 244 persons per km2, compared to Australia's 2.5 persons per km2. Ummmm he is about a 3 day drive...I am guessing about 2700klms north on the coast.ALLEY CAT Kroooz/R - Geno Tex drives a choo-choo train, and isn't familar with either klms or miles. Could you translate that distance into how many railroad crossings from your place to the other? ed monahan It was a couple hour flight.

Australia is one of about 210 countries. At 7617930 km2, it comprises just five percent of the world's land area (149,450,000 km2), yet it is the planet's sixth largest country after Russia, Canada, China, USA, and Brazil. Australia is also the smallest continental land mass (or largest island).
http://www.ga.gov.au/education/facts/dimensions/compare.htm ed monahan Peter, I was amazed that most Australians thought Australia was much larger than the U. S. and most Americans thought the U S was much larger than Australia. I explained to a guy in Sydney that I lived in Ohio, about 1/4 in from the East and just above half way north to south. His reaction was, "Oh, you live in the desert". I guess he thought all countries had an "outback". Beautiful country. I only got to see Sydney and the Great Barrier Reef areas. Kroooozer There are some facts and figures that there are something like 90% of the population live within 100klms of the coastline...not sure of exact percentage but know its high...I have driven through the centre to Alice Springs and all you see is termite mounds and road kill all day(kangaroos 1,000's, cows & even a camel)I liken it to driving through Arizona deserts.
I have added a link on Imagestation to a trip we did over 6,000klms which will give you an idea of what its like in the centre...warning!!! there are 200pics...but my favourite album of the best trip I have done in Australia...you are welcome to view.
http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=4288961335 CapitalCat ...and my home state of New Jersey is the most densely populated state in the U.S., and at 372/km2 is more densely populated than Japan.
