343RWHPAnybody run this tire on the rear? Does the width clear? This tire would add two inches in width (one inch on each side) From what I can see I think I'm going to order some and give it a try. It's 2 inches shorter so the speedo will be off by about 6%
Gary CDunlops are a much better choice, ride is doubled with pleasure(way better ride). They don't hook up as well as the stockers, I think the Dunlops look way better. There is already to much tire on the rear of the stock tired prowlers. JMO

Too much tire? When you ran your 12.70, you had no traction problems whatsoever? I can absolutly toast my 295's on the street all day long. (paxton and gears) Dunlop doesnt make anything close to a 345-25-20.

Gary CDon't get me wrong. I really had to drive the deal to go 12.7, rolled out very easy for 6-8 feet, 60 ft times sucked with a 1.91 was my best. 13 lbs of boost BTW.

WPGI had wanted to put the same size rear tire the concept car had, which I believe was a 315/40/20 (?). Where can you get the 345/25/20 at?

343RWHPMy only concern if the tire fits is that the car might look a little "off" with the tire being two inches shorter. Would have to get a shorter front tire also and then have the car lowered 2 inches. Who makes a lowering kit for the Prowler?
Gary C343, no one as of yet on the lowered deal. I thinks we need to be patient, more 20" tires should be produced in the future, ya think?

A 335-35-20 would be the same height as factory, that would be cool. Over the next year there will be TONS of new sizes in 20 inch thru 24 inch tires.
another cool way to go would be a set of Foose Spanks.
24 inch on the rear with 305-35-24 and 18 inch on the front.
They are reasonably priced for a 24.
Check them out.

saberDunlop is coming out with a 315-40-20 in 2 months I just talk to them on 6/5/2002.

Tony GoertzJust a Note : The Electronic Ratio Adapter that was used with the G-Force gears to adjust the speedo can be set to compensate for tire size changes as well.

JUST JPHas anyone gone to larger sizes? Please post if so. I would also like to go to wider sizes. Mostly for looks, but I think the car will brake slightly better with wider fronts.

I went with the stock size in the rear for the time being until I find a larger size I like. I had ordered 235/45ZR17 tires for the front but cancelled my order when Tire Rack contacted me to inform me it was not a recommended size. I do intend to put 235/45ZR17 on the front within the next couple months. They are .9" wider and only .4" taller than stock.

JUST JPBill,
Sounds like we are on the same wave length. I too would like to go with 235/45 up front, just wondering if it will rub in any way.

JP,
I just went out and looked at the front fenders/tires. I think the 235/45 up front may not work because of the rivets that hold the black arms to the fenders stick about 1/2"-3/4" into the fender well. I had thought they were flat on the inside and did not realize until just now. If they could be ground down 1/4" or so, then I think the 235/45 will fit. Before I order the 235/45, I will look at the rivets and see what can be done with them.

JRLTrust me on this, if you go with a wider tire on the front, the car WILL dart around more. It will follow every surface and rut change in the road. I have a LOT of experience with larger and wider tires and the front end will suffer. The rears are no problem.
