I think I have this condition on my Prowler, it is listed in the "Garage" section but does not give any way of making a fix. Do I need to bring it in for service? ------------------ How about this then. $100.00 Hourly Labor Rate. $150.00 If you watch. $200.00 If you help. $300.00 If you worked on it first. ------------------ This message has been edited by Me Time on 09-07-2012 at 07:08 PM I have come to learn that not everyone is on my level of thinking or thought pattern, so I try to look at things for the others point of view and understand, what can I do to help you become more understanding? I really would like to help you get over your caustic ways. 08 This message has been edited by Me Time on 09-07-2012 at 07:08 PM Dave, you now own the car, and drove it a significant distance to get home ... Therefore, First, I would not bother the sellar on this, or anything, anymore. Second, I would not go looking for problems to crop up ... just try to enjoy the car. and Third, find a local mechanic that you can trust to handle the issues as they do arise. My two cents.Me Time 24-08-98 JUN 98 A/C Compressor - Growl Noise bjprowler You'll need to describe the sound a little more in order to pin-point the problem and get you a cost estimate....

be more specific.Me Time I would not have posted it as written unless I found the exact description in the "Garage" section. I can't describe it much better then as it's written. Maybe I call the seller and ask, being he's a mech. Thanks fo rthe good natured ribbing. catfish im not talking about the hourly rate, the post.could be many things causing the noise, maybe its the belts, maybe the belts are a little loose, they have very high ft.lbs of tension, very high, maybe there worn, who knows.since you dont want to be specific, your on your own. beachcat Dave, don't worry, you are not on your own but you might be better off now. I would take that TSB number to a dealer and ask to see the content of it. Or maybe a member here has access to that TSB. Simonsez My '97 has had the "growling" sound from day one. I was told something about a clutch and it was a natural sound. I fixed mine by turning up the stereo. It has worked perfect every since. Me Time sorry double post Me Time quote:

Catfish, your right it could be many things an internal part could be making the sound I hear it could be a belt tightened too much maybe a the pulley is worn. I asked only because I saw the bulletin and figured it was an ongoing issue related to the 97 model.
