ALLEY CAT | May burn out/overheat the wiring. |
WPG | I have been using 100 watts in mine for about 2 months so far without any problems. However, I have not driven my Prowler much at night, so it may not be a fair judgement. The ones I bought have a fiberglass base that is supposed to protect the wiring and prevent burning. They are bluish-white and look better than stock, but do not resemble HID lights. I think it is because of the opaque lense in front of the bulbs in the headlight assembly. I have the same bulbs in another one of my cars with much better HID likeness. ------------------ Bill Gallagher 1999 Red www.magictouchdesigns.com • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.1 With EGR Bypass Kit • Exhaust With Custom Flowmatched H-Pipe • MTD Suspension Frame Braces • Prowler Pro Gears • Catalytic Converters Wrapped In Heat Shield Cloth • $9 Chrome Grill + Painted Gloss Black • Gloss Black Painted Bumpers With Lettering Painted Red On Rear • Custom Built Speaker Box In Trunk With 15" Woofer And 200 Watt Amp • Stock Speakers Replaced with MBQuart In Dash, Rear , And Doors , Stock Sub Disabled • Polished Frame and Rear Components • Custom Seat Covers • Custom Painted Hood Badge • Black Rear Fender Protectors Removed • Tachometer Refinements ( Reroute Wires , Covered Bare Aluminum Post )Future Mods: • Goodyear Non-Runflat Tires |
Alex | I've got 65 watt (high and low beams) xenon plasma. Very nice bluish color without spending $900.00 or more for the real bluish lights you see on Audis. Alex ------------------ 2001 Orange Plymouth Kat |
PROWLEN | Sasy, I used the 100 Watt Super White Xeon Plasma bulbs and after awhile it melted my wiring harness and toasted the socket connector. I had to replace the whole pig-tail. I have had no problems with the 65 Watt Xeon Plasma bulbs since. ------------------ Prowl-On... PROWLEN.... John (-: |
SasyMama | Thanks I got 65w. The man at the store said that any with a fiberglass base does not melt the harness. Did yours have this type of base? Are the new 100w better.Anyone have the purple ones?

KAT 2K | Installed 65W blue Diamond bulbs in mine about a year ago. 2 months ago one went out. Found one of the sockets burnt. Have been told that when replacing original bulbs with higher wattage you need to install high temp sockets. Haven't look into that yet. |
