TLRandallReceived this flyer in the mail today from my friendly neighborhood Chrysler Dealer. They went out of their way to offer me tons of cash to trade in my Mulholland. I wonder if the offer comes with a case of Vaseline so when they bend me over and

Howard Go down there and act excited about the deal. Just as they hand you the paperwork to close the deal, say let me think about it for a couple of days.

This dealer should be ashamed to send out a notice like this.

garysssTom as a friend, I'm willing to give you $1000 above trade. $18300 Please let me know when I can Fly down to drive it home. LOLTo Me!!!
CJIs this dealer nuts?? What makes him think that for UP TO $17,300 you'd WANT to sell your Prowler (or any price for that matter)? Wow! Call him and tell him that for an EVEN trade for any vehicle on his lot of your choice, you might consider it!

Des, actually they do. I guess they use some database to know what is registered in your name. I get these on several of my cars, usually just to get you to come look at new models. I'm sure it works for them or they wouldn't do it.

TLRandallDes, I actually do get these for the Prowlers all the time, but this was the first one that gave a price on it. To Lithia's defense, they are a great bunch of people there and do all my service work on the Prowlers. When I asked them about this latest "offer", they told me they hire an ad company that uses their database to automatically send out mailers to try to entice people to trading their cars in for something new, They agreed that this one was no enticement.

Looking at the text, it says that they are in need of several select preowned 2001 Chrysler Prowler vehicles to satisfy current customer requests. They haven't sold a Prowler there in a decade, so I assume whoever produced this mailing for them is just using that service data to fill in the blank fields. I just thought it was kinda amusing.

JeraneWI received one similar to this from my local dealer where I have had it serviced. I wouldn't give them the time of day.

Looks like you will be needing a watch.

Maybe a map too so you can tell them where to go.

JRLI don't know your Prowler or your mileage but I think you should copy and print this out, take it with you to your dealer and shove it up their ass.

(Recent WHOLESALE auction sale prices for all Prowlers around the country and mostly Mulhollands!)

So unless you have over 50,000 miles it's worth WHOLESALE in the mid 20s

07/12/11 ORLANDO Lease $29,700 6,685 Above BLUE 6G A
07/14/11 SO CAL Regular $26,250 20,587 Avg BLUE 6G A
08/25/11 PALM BCH Regular $19,600 47,295 Below BLUE 6G A
09/07/11 DENVER Regular $26,000 20,679 Avg BLUE 6G A
10/05/11 NASHVILL Regular $24,500 29,292 Avg MAROON 6G A
11/04/11 PA Regular $24,100 14,231 Avg BLUE 6G A

Also KBB, the book THEY say this number is from gives a 2001 Prowler in excellent condition all around with 40,000 miles, a TRADE IN VALUE (not private party sale), at about $27,000.
So... you can print that out too and if there is still room in their ass, you can shove that in there too!

TLRandallI am keeping her, she is still a baby, with just 21,000 miles!!!

carguybillC'mon guys lighten up. Don't blame your dealer. I get the same type cards but mostly from Ford. These things are computer generated and I'd be surprised if your local dealer had anything to do with putting these mailings out.

Sure they are misinformed at to the value of our Prowlers and I agree that their "offer" is insulting. Your local dealer is just trying to get potential customers in the door. I'd suggest we cut them a bit of slack and understand that they are just trying to make a living - like the rest of us.

------------------

JRLWRONG
They know what's being sent out (regardless of by whomever or whatever company), and to blatently LIE about the value, and being so far off, is just way off base.
A small lowball sure, but by 7 to 9 GRAND!!! no way.

They actually have gone UP in (wholesale) auction sale prices

You have to remember this is a sight unseen offer. If you read the small print it says assuming 10000 miles a year, which would make it 100000-110000 miles on his prowler. They are not going to offer you $25000 without knowing actual mileage or condition. It's a mailing, nothing to get upset over or any reason to shove it up anybody's.LOL

condor--

Low milage 01/02 burned-orange, candy apple red prowler are still high in price. My one goes for $ 60.000

--

DESI see, the car had been serviced hence they had contact info and address to send it to..
interesting
garysssI get these for cars I bought used from private party and have never been to a dealer. They must also use car registration from your state.
alrtgI think a lot of the information is provided by the local Motor Vehicle Administration.

Here in Maryland several years ago I had the opportunity to "Opt Out" and request that none of my information is shared or made available to anyone. (except maybe the police)

I do EVERYTHING I can to avoid getting on mailing lists and will not give out the information when I don't have to.
When I must provide the information, I make it very very clear that it is not to be shared with anyone or used for any solicitation of any kind. So far so good, I get very little junk mail, some weeks I don't get any mail at all.

EssexExportHave also gotten those offers before, but never one with a price.
