Updated 2/7/2018. "Prowling the Plateau" event will occur October 12th - 19th of 2018. Everyone always had a great time in the past with a Halloween costume party. It's fall, the colors are very beautiful, weather is still warm enough for top down driving, and its mostly dry! I have put together a head count estimate of 50 total positive responses to date. (25 couples) Schedule of Events as Follows: Oct 12th Friday: Arrive at FFG/Wyndham office - check in. Wine and Cheese Social at 4pm @ Legends Restaurant; 'Westchester Room and Patio.' 5:30/6 pm -Dinner at Legends or Stonehenge as you choose. Both Restaurants have a full menu and bar. Open until 8 pm. Oct 13th Saturday: Breakfast at Stonehenge grill. ~10 am trip to Pikeville and up Dayton Mountain to Wooden's Apple House. Dinner at Cumberland Mountain State Park - ALL YOU CAN EAT RIBS - 5 to 8 pm. Beer and wine is served. Lounge area in main dining room, with beautiful view of the lake and dam, has been reserved for us. Oct 14th Sunday: Breakfast at Legends Restaurant. Sunday Brunch is fantastic! ~10 am guided hike at Seven Bridges Trail - 2 hours - beginners trail - bring at least tennis shoes & bottle of water. No flip flops! Drive to Pall Mall- visit Sgt. York Museum, grist mill, 1895 hardware store. On the way back - Wine tasting at Stonehouse Winery in Crossville. Dinner at Stonehenge or Legends. Both restaurants have a full menu and bar; open until 8 pm Oct 15th Monday: Breakfast at Stonehenge grill. Depart at 9:30 am for all day trip to the Tail of the Dragon - Cherohala Skyway – Bald River Waterfall. Dinner will be in Alcoa after the Tail of the Dragon event. Many fine restaurants to choose from in this area. Oct 16th Tuesday: Breakfast at Stonehenge grill. ~8 am. All day trip to Jack Daniel Distillery-2 hr. drive. A fee is involved at J.D. but well worth the tour. Good parking. Lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's restaurant, a short walk from the distillery. Family Style Serving..Very good food. We have eaten here in the recent past. Oct 17th Wednesday: Slower day. Have breakfast at your leisure- Stonehenge if you wish. Golf if you wish. Take a pontoon boat ride. (Cumberland County Playhouse is Closed Today– Sorry.) Dinner reservations (4:30/5 pm) made at Lefties Smoke House in Crossville. Family owned and operated - several generations. Oct 18th Thursday: Breakfast at Stonehenge grill. AM cruise around Fairfield Glade then up to Roosevelt Mountain for beautiful views. Lunch/drinks at Stonehenge. Oct 19th Friday: Breakfast at Stonehenge. Check out. Farewell and safe travel to everyone! This message has been edited by quincy on 05-10-2018 at 12:25 PM |

Ed & Sandy Monahan are in. Phone is 135 013 0376, but not in that order. I will be glad to help with the Tail, Cherohala, waterfall. I have no idea where we would eat afterward. The last time I tried that, the restaurant went out of business between planning and actual eating there. |

Lou, on your second thread, YOU ought to post a reply, even if it doesn't say anything at this point, to have a spot for further updates at a later date. That way it doesn't get lost in a 10,000 word first post. Just my opinion. |
