Tip # 1, don't buy crap from the Prowler Store. It is over priced, lower quality and their return policy is basically non-existent. The only grease fittings are on the wheels. The anti freeze lubricates the water pump so that should be changed if it is old. The timing belt may be about due to be changed but most of them seem to be doing really well. you are much better off buying stuff here on POA than dealing with the Prowler Store, seriously. |

For a new fuel pump assembly visit the site of one of our members, Tom Mills, he sells an excellent replacement pump. Last item on the list. https://jeffersonautocollision.com/prowler-parts/ This message has been edited by kees on 05-02-2020 at 04:43 AM |

I doubt if you have a bad head gasket. Start with the simplest thing, the cheapest fix and if that doesn't work, go to the next easiest thing. Probably a bad thermostat, but the radiator may have been partially clogged. The cars are about 20 years old so if it was not maintained, it may have had some gunk in it, for sure. Good luck. Go with the Tom Mills fuel pump fix. Many satisfied customers over the past few years. |

Don't overlook your radiator cap. A pressure test on will let you know if it needs to be replaced. It was a simple fix for me years ago. |

Prowlers have a problem with trapped air. There is a procedure in the service manual telling you how to get the air out of the system and it is easy to do. Good luck with your Prowler. |

I've had owners with over-heating issues tell me that they've bleed the air out of the system yet I typically find air trapped in the cooling system. I see that you're in the middle east. Make sure that you're using the stock grill and try removing the rubber seal at the back of the hood at the cowl. It will help exhaust some hot air. |

Thanks Bob & Ed I did the bleeding steam system .. And I found out I have just 1 speed radiator fan (High) . It works when the heat reaches half. And the low speed does not work.. what should I do ? |

quote: Check for loose wiring at the fan connection. Check relays to see if the low speed relay is bad. You can swap the low with the high and turn on the AC. The fan should be on when the AC is on. Relay panel is located under the side panel on the driver's side. The relays are the same so moving them around shouldn't be a problem. If that doesn't work, the low speed part of the fan motor or the temperature sensor may be bad. If you don't have the manual for your Prowler, you can find them for sale here on POA. Quick easy test to see if fan motor is OK... Pull both fan relays - jumper the relay socket with a test wire. One socket at a time. Fan should run each time. Use a heavy wire as the fan draws a lot of power. If both times fan runs - swap the fan relays with the other two relays - (fuel pump and starter). You will know right away if a relay is bad. |
