Ok, so I am new to the prowler community and would love to learn from the years of experience of all the members. I have a 1999 Prowler, 10k miles with a Paxton supercharger. During idle, normal driving etc I smell no gas, but under hard acceleration I can small gas in the car. As soon as I let off the acceleration the gas smell is gone and I no longer get the odor until another run. I did start to have an issue now when I get on the loud pedal when the car is around 20-30 miles per hour the rpms jump up but the car moves as if it is only getting 1/4 pedal placement. Can't tell if this is a fuel or transmission issue. Honestly not sure if these two issues are related or completely separate. A hard acceleration from a standstill I do not have the power issues just the gas issue. Thanks in advance for all input.

Check your fuel line pressure. Maybe your fuel pump is no longer 100%. NEVER run a supercharged engine on a lean fuel mixture

Paxton put 2 additional fuel injectors in the intake pipe elbow before the throttle body. They only come on during boost. The "rubber" air intake elbow had tendency to slip off the throttle body with the boost pressure. If it has come loose, you will get air/fuel mixture blowing into engine compartment. I would start by looking there.

A bad blow off valve can cause excess pressure in the intake pipe when the throttle closes, especially at high rpm. This will make the "rubber" elbow come off.

Let us know what you find.

I was not aware of these injectors. I was able to locate them today and the rubber hose does appear to be intact with no leaking. That being said, there was a lot of gas residue around the housing and on components in the area. What are the signs to look for with a bad injector? Could a bad injector be causing the leaking residue?

Double check the clamp to the throttle body.
Remember that the tube , intake and injectors are all under pressure "outward" under boost.

Check the injector fittings into tube (can't remember exactly what they looked like) and the fuel line connections to the injectors.

To find the leak, I would put a single layer of blue shop towel around the suspect areas and then cover with aluminum tape to secure and protect from fire.

After a test run - remove and see which one shows signs of fuel.

Thanks Tony. I took apart the entire assembly cleaned them and reinstalled and I have no more gas smell under full throttle. I am in need of a fuel pump as the car is hard to start when warm and when there is about half a tank of gas it will shudder under hard acceleration.
Any ideas on fuel pump replacements that are supplying a paxton supercharger?
