I broke a valve stem (long story) but the run flats got me to a place where I could replace the broken stem for a rubber standard stem. I have now installed a new "old style" 04815132AB tires sensor from RockAuto. What is the "relearn" procedure? I read all the posts about the old versus new sensors & TPMS for the upgraded system, but I would like to attempt the relearn steps before I tape over the warning light and then upgrade (for the big bucks!)..... does anyone have knowledge of the old relearn pocecdure? |

I used DRB3 on a 1999. Don't know if anything else will do the job. |

There have been some changes in the last few years in TPMS sensors. The dealer could have installed a programmable sensor using the ID from the old one and it would have worked. The ID is printed on the old sensor once it is removed the new one can be programmed with the same numbers and the TPMS in the car will not know the difference. |

For what it is worth.... The 1997 through 2001 TPMS system used in the Prowler is different from the 2002 model year. The 1997 through 2001 Original Equipment TPMS Sensors run between $170.00 and $200.00 (Give or take) each. When I got new tires again back in July, I planned on swapping the original sensors into a nicer set of spare rear wheels I have but the retaining nuts were corroded enough to make the installer concerned. I did not want to risk damaging the sensors so I left well enough alone. For now I have retained the flaking wheels but did order through a member here, a set of the 2002 TPMS sensors and matching module that installs in the dash for much less than new old style sensors alone. My plan is to swap them out when the original battery's fail, or this set of tires wear out, whichever happens first. P.S. This message has been edited by alrtg on 10-01-2019 at 05:20 PM |

A quick update..... I took the procedure that was Posted (thanks a whole bunch!) to the local dealer and though the "special magnet tool" was not available we were able to use some other magnets and programmed the newest (in conjunction with the remaining three) TPS and the warning light is now off! |

Thanks for posting the results. That may help someone else in the future. A lot of folks ask for help and then never post again. Your input is appreciated. Glad you got it fixed. |

Autozone can supply Schrader TPMS sensors for the 2000 Prowler for $49.95 each Guaranteed to fit. Tho oem TPMS sensors were made by Schrader.I had the part # cross referenced. A representative stated they are the same part, just a different color. They are also made in a different country as were the oem's. |

A quick update to the TPS issue. I followed up at the local Chrysler dealership with the calibration procedure provided (thank you very much) and there was a mechanic that was able to use his DRB 3 on the Prowler. He found the same procedure on his laptop. There was no special magnet tool available so we used 2 magnets from an electrical motor repair. By "wrapping" the quarter circle magnets around the valve stem, placed on the wheel, we were able to calirate all sensors and it was successful!! Thanks to all the replies and suggestions and this is proof positive that groups like this can help solve a multitude of issues! Thanks to all!! |

Once upon a time it was included in a Miller tool set. The magnet was Miller Tool 8192. Shame that none of the dealers have the stuff anymore. I'm shocked that they had a functioning DRB though, at least that was good news! The important thing is you're problem free for the moment. |
