Hi everyone,

Can you advise where to purchase the air filter for a 99?

Hi JH,
Pick up a Purolator 'Pure One' part number PA23465.
Most name brand, large auto parts stores will carry it. Or, try Amazon / online. Good luck with the install, its a bit on the difficult side but doable. Don't loose or mix up the shims under the 10 mm bolts that hold the fender on. The passenger fender must be removed for access to the air box.

I got a K&N years ago and it's still in place. Not sure if they still make that one!

You still have to remove, wash, air dry, then oil those types of filters every 2 years. I run the Fram Air Hog...

I was able to change mine with only removing the right engine panel. Did not have to remove the fender.

Opps....correct. Engine panel. NOT the wheel fender.
Thinking the Prowler was a conventional vehicle for a moment. It also helps to remove one 10 mm bolt holding the air box to the frame so you have a bit more movement and clearance to maneuver in the tight area. I find it's best to lay down on a old carpet. Kneeling is really tough these days.
