Hello again. So since i bought this car from the seller. It has always has the check engine light on and the cruise control light stays on. Never thought much about it. But now its more bothersome and I would like to get rid of it. I attached a Scanguage device onto the car and it came up with this error. PID02=0601

Also shows these other codes below. Not sure if this is also a problem.

PID03=0202 Loop is Open
PID04=11
PID05=74
PID0B=29 MAP PSI = 6.0

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

The 601 code is a bad computer. Car will run ok but will not pass emissions. You may need to buy a new or exchange computer. The rest of the codes are possibly being thrown because the unit is bad. Some one will post as to exchange or buy a new computer. They are not cheap

I believe in some of the above information you are mixing PID information and P codes.

What mode is code reader in? Modes are 1 though 9.

It would help to only use P codes. PID info is much to deep for basic diagnosis and conversation.

What you have for PID is,

PID03=0202 Loop is Open .... Bad fuel injector(open in injector coil), wiring or PCM, on cylinder 2.

PID04=11 .... Engine load in percent. 11%

PID05=74 .... Engine coolant temperature in degrees C. 74C = 165F

PID0B=29 MAP PSI = 6.0 .... intake Manifold Absolute Pressure, 6 PSI

I would suggest clearing codes and resetting engine computer (PCM) as a first step.

To clear codes and reset engine computer, Disconnect positive battery cable for 1 or two hours. Reconnect cable and drive car for 25 miles. Check again for fault codes. Check only for P codes in mode 1 or 2 on code reader.

If you have a true P0601 code, it is internal memory fault in PCM.

How is car engine running in general. starts easy, idles smoothly, has power, starts right up with hot engine, etc?

Hello Tom
Thank you for taking the time to reply.
The car starts, runs and drives perfect! I disconnect the battery anytime I am not using the car because something drains the battery if I keep it on. So when the battery is disconnected and I connect to drive the car no lights. The second I turn the car off and start again then the lights come on with the error code that I showed you. My other issue is I cannot find a local Chrysler dealer that takes care of the car. So I am not sure what to do without having to take a mortgage out on my house. LOL.

P0601 and P0202 are real error codes. The others are not.

Continually disconnecting battery is not a good idea. Bad for the cars electronics. Buy a Battery Tender.

I would clean connector on PCM with electronics spray cleaner and reconnect. PCM is located on passenger side, behind side panel. Disconnect negative battery terminal before doing this.

If still no help, have dealer run a diagnostic code check. About 100 bucks.

If they confirm a P0601, then contact these guys for a PCM repair.

If it puts out a 601 code , it might just start posting other codes. Yes its best to clear it and see if the 601 comes back. If so , its computer time. A 601 code will not clear if its bad
