Ok we had a Prowler event this week in Ocala and One of the Prowlers broke down .it ran fine from West Palm Fl. to Bellview fl. the if shut off we were able to restart it but ran ruff then would not start at all . So we checked the codes and it had a code of - PO123 - this is the Throttle Pedal Position Sensor , so we replaced it but it was not a fix . so we were down to a bad fuel pump or the Map Sensor ? after some more checking I tried the Map sensor . It never came up with a code but it cost than a fuel pump . and the car ran fine . the map sensor has 2 small O rings and they were hard as a rock not sure if what was the problem ? but replaced with all new sensor . So if You have this problem try the map Sensor first it might save you some money ...

I had a P0123 code last year and the check engine light came on and I replaced my TPS.

I ran it through the emissions and it passed the Indiana pollution inspection but to be honest I never really pushed the car to WOT to really test it out. It ran fine with the code set.

Here is the location of the MAP sensor a.k.a. Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor on a 1999 or newer.

Guess the MAP sensor was not the final fix. They called me in the afternoon and they were broken down again near Orlando. They were looking for phone numbers for Prowler owners close to where they were. Time to replace the fuel pump?

Guys,

I have a 2001 Kat. My engine runs a little high RPM, I have a P0123 error code that comes and goes, when I start the engine it goes high RPM and then back down (every time especially cold) and also it seems that every once in a while the engine 'stumbles' like for a second there is no gas or something. Does this sound like a Map sensor or fuel pump? Or perhaps the manifold needs to be cleaned out from old oil residue? Any hints you can share?

Many thanks.
