Jan - you might know the answer to this one... I have a trailblazer. I found, in my yard, another remote from a chevy dealer. The remotes look identical and both have the number 2 on the back. The one I found has the GM# and FCC ID# covered. I took the found one to the dealer it is from and asked if they could program that one to the same as I have now so that I could have 2 remotes for my trailblazer. He told me no, that I cannot have (2 qty) #2 remotes for the same vehicle, that I had to have a #1 and a #2 remote in order to have 2 remotes for the one vehicle. He sounded certain as to what he told me, but it just didnt sound right.
Can they program the found one to match my current one (or reprogram both to match a new code) or can I program the found one using the working one like we can with our Prowlers?
(I hope I didn't make that confusing.)

No, I have a working remote with a 2 on it. They both have 2 on them. They told me I can't have both with a 2. That said in order to have 2 working remotes for the same car one must be a 1 and the other must be a 2. That didn't sound right to me.
The phone number listed on the found one was for the dealership I went to already that told me that.
Oops, I guess you mean the number you listed above. I'll try calling them. Thanks.

Jan thanks for the information. I needed it a few weeks ago. My daughteres Quest needed a new remote. The dealer wanted $108.00 for the remote and to program it. I bought one on E-Bay for $9.99 with free shipping and it included instructions to program. I was a hero!!

Mickey, You may try grinding the #2 off of one of the remotes.. That way only one of them will have a #2 on it. I know it sounds silly, but give it a try. What can it hurt??

I called Midwest Keyless and asked them about this and they told me the dealer didn't know what he was talking about. Sent me to http://www.programyourremote.com for programming instructions. They have instructions for most any vehicle.
