sounds like heater core or hoses, have you checked the rt side frt carpet to see if its wet.if its the core it usually drips down to the carpet, depending on how long youve noticed the smell.ck for drips after sitting awhile under rt side firewall.good luck.a fact. heater core is not real expensive parts wise just the labor.there are a/m heater cores available also for less money.i would go w/a factory unit if thats what it needs.some a/m stuff quality is not to great.let us know what you find.

I had a similar incident a few weeks ago. Could not find any leaks anywhere. Neal, The Prowler Tech at Preston Chrysler suggested that it could be the water pump leaking intermittently. I know... That doesn't sound right, but, he is the expert... NOT ME. When he got the water pump exposed, we could see indications where there had been a leak around the water pump. They changed it under warranty and I have not had the coolant smell since then.
Good luck!!

We were headed to a golf trip in Myrtle Beach and I kept telling the driver/owner of the van that I could smell coolant. He insisted he just had it checked and I was wrong. When we stopped for gas we opened the hood and a hose was leaking. I could smell it inside the van, so it could be an under hood leak that you are smelling. It could be coming in thru the vents.

best way to find it is to put a rad pressure tester on it.if you dont have one go to checkers our auto zone they usually have one you can use,and you will find right away.
