Jan, Sorry, but I think we are going to need more information to help evaluate your dim display issue: Can you tell us what time of day and day of the week this delima occurs?? What was the barametric pressure and was it rising or falling at the time of the dim light issue?? Were there any outside sources of electrical currents near you at the time.. IE.. Large generator or air compressor running?? Were you wearing sunglasses at the time of the dim light issue or had you just come in from bright sunlight and your Rod Cells had not had enough time to replinish?? Were your headlights on or off?? Was the Prowler in the garage or in bright sunlight(((I am assuming it is the Prowler you are asking about)). Once we have all the facts, I am sure there is somebody that can properly evaluate your delima. BUT... In answer to your question... YES!!! It has happened to me. I found that when my lights are turned on, those displays will be more dim than when the lights are off (I believe this is so the bright light will not effect your night vision). You can control the display brightness with the light switch knob. If you rotate the switch knob all the way clockwise it will be the brightest, but if you slightly back the switch counterclockwise (It will click), the display will dim to about half of the brightness. Please let us know what you find out as I am sure this will happen to many of us one day and because of your experience, we will all benefit. OH!!! One more thing (Seriously)... I appreciate the vast knowledge you share with us about our Prowlers. Best to you.. Brad |

its not the h/l switch,or reostat in the switch.it will be brightly lit up and all of a sudden goes dim,and its only part of lets say the ododmeter display.3 of the digits will be dim and other 3 bright, next time i start it, it will be ok.has happened a couple of times now and all the grounds are clean. ------------------ |
