Installation costs vary widely. A local garage or trans. shop might cost less than a dealer. I went to a Chrysler dealer to have mine installed and $460.00 dollars later I had a huge smile on my face and always catch rubber in second gear. From a mechanical stand point the job is easy. Hooking up the speedo correction box into the controller in the trunk is a little tricker.

Great guy to buy the gears from
Car runs great and it will break the tires loose in second gear
The job is not that hard
Took about 2 and one half hrs to do
Well worth the money and time

If you know someone that is a pretty good wrench, and can get the car on a lift, the install is not that hard. Dean gives good instructions. Just take your time and follow the bouncing ball.

No lift necessary. I backed onto Rhino Ramps, took an hour-and-a-half - piece of cake.

I think Tony Goertz is doing a batch right now. But they sold out fast. And then I think that is it for them.

Makes the prowler quicker off the line. Can chirp into second

That's what I've heard anyway.

Hey people, correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Prowler built for and meant to be a cruising car, not a racing car. A Prowler will never be able to compete with the likes of a Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger in a quarter mile race. I would think that 98% of Prowler owners cruise in them, not race them. So the cost of a set of gears ($1100) and the cost of having them installed ($500) does not seem very cost effective for the small increase in performance. Not to mention the added stress you are putting on the transmission which was not meant for drag racing. JMO.

Installation is nowhere near $ 500. Prowlers are very quick in the 1/8th mile.

Cost is not highest priority when you are adding mods.

When we added gears we were only concerned about the effect they would give us . . .FUN, FUN, FUN

More 'Pumpkin' photos and Mod Stuff . . . . . . . Our other cars and stuff
