Hello everybody, I'm new to this site and just purchased a prowler with 1800 miles on it and to make a long story short, hit a median and wiped out the front and back rim they have been bent. I ordered new ones from the dealer at a tune of 700 for the front and 865 for the rear. They all seem to come from the factory with either pitting or flaking or the rims are simply out of round. I am over the factory wheels. I would like to put aftermarket Wheels and tires on the car and was hoping someone here would know where I might be able to get some good ones which will fit. I have been to Crusin Gold and they are a wheel giant here in Florida, however they seem unable to help. DESPERATELY IN SEARCH OF WHEELS------------THANKS RICK----PALM BAY FLORIDA

Rick,

Chris (cnote) at moonshadow here in Dallas has done wheels on a few. He did the ones on my mulholland. Give him a call...

Hi Rick.

Check the following sites and see if you see something you like - all three of these manufacturers make wheels that fit the Prowler.
http://www.boydcoddington.com
http://www.coloradocustom.com
http://www.introwheels.com

None of 'em are "cheap", but you get what you pay for in this case.

You need 20 x 10's on the back, and 17 x 7.5's on the front in 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern. You can thank butchee for that info - he gave it to me just the other day in another thread as I'm looking at some Colorado Customs myself.

Post pictures of your car when you get your wheels - we'd love to see it

I know 22's have worked on the back, but I don't if anyone's ever tried 23's.

Lemme know if it works...

If 23's would work don't you think I would have done it. A 22 is the biggest you're gonna get on there and the 22 it is a 30 series tire. Not good if you plan on doing a bunch of driving ..... like I do.
19's and 22's is the way to fly.

Anyone have the back spacing for the front and rear?

5 on 4.5 bolt pattern
Front 17 x 7.5, 5.5 rear offset / backspace
Rear 20 x 10, 6.25 rear offset / backspace

Once again, credit goes to Butchee - if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have had the information to give you

Rick,

Two years ago I purchased my 1999 Prowler from a dealer in Texas. One of the main reasons for selecting this car was due to the Colorado Custom wheels which were installed by the previous owner. Real nice craftmanship! Very pleased.

Below are links to pictures which were sent to me by the dealer.

Hope this helps...John

Any other pictures of Kat's with custom wheels. I have been looking at Billet Speciality and Boyd Coddington. wheels I assume that a lot more prowlers are currently running aftermarket wheels because of the flaking issue with production wheels. My wheels only have a few bubbles but I hate it enough that I am going to change them. Anyone with nice custom wheels, please post pictures. Thanks!

Thank you Marty for the picture. I have seen all the prowlers with custom wheels on this site, but I figure that a lot of people here do not post their car pictures. I really would expect that more kats are running high quality wheels. With as many people that are buying hardtops or re-chroming their prowler wheels why not spend another $3,000 on a set of GOOD wheels.

Thank you! The orange kat with the Intros and the kat with the HREs look good. The orange HRE I think were the ones on ebay. Those three piece HRE sure are heavy! I am sure the 22's and 18's ride rough.

I also thought the Low profile tires would ride rough, so I posted this just to tell you that any non Runflat will ride much , much softer than the original tires.
