WENT 3 DAYS AGO AND HAD THE OIL CHANGED AT 3,600 MILES TO SYNTHETIC OIL AND GUESS WHAT??? NO MORE VALVE TAP ON COLD START UP....I MEAN "ZERO" NOISE...THIS IS THE FIRST CAR I HAVE EVER PUT SYNTHETIC OIL IN AND IT MAY BE MY IMAGINATION BUT IT ACTUALLY SEEMS TO RUN BETTER.....EITHER WAY NO CHATTER ON COLD START UP SINCE CHANGED AND IT DID IT EVERY SINGLE TIME BEFORE....

Now that you mention it - I had the same result when I changed to Mobil 1. I'm still using Mopar filers.

I run Mobil 1 thru Mopar filters...I have the chatter still, but it is totally random and intermittent....depending on lifter position when I shut it off....

I WENT WITH VALVOLINE SYNTHETIC AND AN UPPER MODEL VALVOLINE FILTER.....IT SEEMS TO HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR ME I START IT EVERYDAY EVEN IF I DONT GO ANYWHERE TO SEE IF IT CHATTERS AND NOTHING....IT ACTUALLY SEEMS WEIRD STARTING IT AND NOT HEARING THAT NOISE BUT I SURE DONT MISS IT..........

I have had the same results with Valvoline also! Very good products.

I AM 39 AND HAVE USED VALVOLINE AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER EVEN BACK AS A KID....GO CARTS,HONDA ATC'S, TRACTORS,PUSH MOWERS,CARS,ANYTHING THAT TAKES OIL!!! AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY KIND OF FAILURE...USUALLY THE CARB OR THE INJECTORS TAKE A DUMP...BUT NEVER A "BURN OIL THING" OR "NEEDS NEW RINGS" AND BELIEVE ME, MY HONDA A.T.C. HAD ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON IT AT LEAST (guessing) AND RAN LIKE A TOP, I BEAT THAT THING TO DEATH AS A KID...SO I KNOW MOBIL 1 IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BEST, BUT FOR ME ITS ALWAYS GONNA BE VALVOLINE...
