I just went out in the garage to install my ceramic pads and took my center caps off. Both caps are broken. I decided to remove the rear caps also. They too, are broken. This makes me wonder if the prowler was just thrown together out of spare parts. I don't have this problem with my Grand Cherokee or my 300M. ------------------ |

it's just a cap thing, I'd say around 1/2 of them come broken from the factory. |

After reading about all the cap problems I went on Ebay to look for center-caps. $160 set! I was also drilling my front and rear rotors and puting on ceramic pads. So i figured i'd break them and need replacements. I called my local Chrysler dealer and ordered a set of four. He called and said they were in. I stopped up to pick them up and he said come back when you have the car with you, I want to see it. So about a week later i stopped in with the Car he went out wrote down the Vin# off the kat and mileage. I asked how much i owed him and he said (free still under warranty!) Originals ones i glued with construction adhesive, they are still on the car!!!How good is that!!Quite surprised. ------------------ |

HOT GLUE TREATMENT> I can take my caps on and off all day long after doing the AC approved treatment. Just reinforces the strength of the clips...It does NOT glue the cap to the wheel in any way. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! |

LMAO - fixee, you were suppose to use Super Glue,,,they will never break or come off again I already did the rotate and crossover tire thing,,,,looked bad to the bone. Ed owned a rusted out Intrepid (three of the doors were different colors) and when the front studded snow tires were nearly worn out, he'd rotate them to the rear for additional mileage. You guys are crazy! |

quote: Sasquatch you screwed that story up totally. I had three different colored wheels and I rotated the doors. I had a red Intrepid with black doors, A Woodward model, and that low life Mike K. stole my idea with no remuneration. I would suspend his posting privileges except I like Judy. Get your facts straight or I will have YOUR attorney sue you for slander and intentional misinformation. lol. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 04-10-2003 at 12:41 AM |
