I now have about 2500 miles on my yellow 02, and was cleaning it up yesterday. It had rained the day before and I had driven it about 100 miles in the rain, so it was in need of a clean up.As i was drying the car I noticed the front bumper has what appear to be water spots, my question is what will safely remove these and will prevent any more damage or spotting to the bumper. Can they be waxed without buildup? Should I use something else? This may seem minor , but I would like to keep in in as good of condition as possible. thanks, Spencer |

Spray some W-D 40 on a rag and wipe the bumpers down, I've used this techinque on other cars with good results. |

Spencer, I don't have the water spots, but I did use ProtectAll for the first time last weekend. It looks great on the bumpers (IMO). Mike ------------------ |

ProtectAll should not only remove the water spots but should help keep them from coming back. I always wipe my bumpers with ProtectAll after I am done with the rest of the kat. ------------------ |

Thanks all for the quick reply, i'll try this today, as I plan on driving some tonight. The weather is 78 today and sunshine. One advantage of owning and "YELLOW" is that it does not show all the pollen that we are now having on all cars, roads, etc. thanks Spencer |

Your getting pollen on your car! I wish I had a white prowler to hide all the frost that's on my car in the morning... ------------------ |

I like to use Black Magic, it gives the bumpers a nice shine and the bug juice doesn't stick to it - just make sure you apply it the shade. ------------------ |

I had water spots from driving through some spill on the road in my '02. I tried scrubbing it off with a terry cloth towel and using standard cleaner. Didn't work. Decided to use my Claybar on it since that's what it's meant for. BINGO! No more spots. I'm a claybar believer for life. If you have a Claybar use it. If not I highly recommend getting one. |

problem, Prowler's have a VERY thin clear coat, claybar will rub right through it. Don't use unless you have to, like for paint over spray. ------------------ |

Thanks for all the replys, i'll try some of the methods you guys posted, been out riding today great weather, the only problem with the pollen is that you can't take the top down because the stuff gets all over all the black interior and is very hard to get out of edges and cracks on all the interior. I guess being down in the south does have some drawbacks......... thanks......Spencer |

Just drive REAL fast & don't give the stuff time to settle. I bought a vent brush and use it on the interior and it works real well. Looks like a fat artist's brush. Works for me! ------------------ |

I've got a red 99 with the gray bumpers. They were a fairly flat color, and were getting a few spots. I (VERY LIGHTLY) rubbed some WENOL metal polish onto them, wiped it off, and all the spots came off and the bumpers have a great shine. I emphasize LIGHTLY as this is an abrasive polish. Enjoy :-) |
