May burn out/overheat the wiring.

I have been using 100 watts in mine for about 2 months so far without any problems. However, I have not driven my Prowler much at night, so it may not be a fair judgement. The ones I bought have a fiberglass base that is supposed to protect the wiring and prevent burning. They are bluish-white and look better than stock, but do not resemble HID lights. I think it is because of the opaque lense in front of the bulbs in the headlight assembly. I have the same bulbs in another one of my cars with much better HID likeness.

I've got 65 watt (high and low beams) xenon plasma. Very nice bluish color without spending $900.00 or more for the real bluish lights you see on Audis.

Sasy, I used the 100 Watt Super White Xeon Plasma bulbs and after awhile it melted my wiring harness and toasted the socket connector. I had to replace the whole pig-tail.

I have had no problems with the 65 Watt Xeon Plasma bulbs since.

Thanks
I got 65w. The man at the store said that any with a fiberglass base does not melt the harness. Did yours have this type of base? Are the new 100w better.

Anyone have the purple ones?

Installed 65W blue Diamond bulbs in mine about a year ago. 2 months ago one went out. Found one of the sockets burnt. Have been told that when replacing original bulbs with higher wattage you need to install high temp sockets. Haven't look into that yet.
