Have a 99' and have been told that I can't disconnect the battery, because it will mess up the electronics. don't drive in the winter, and the battery goes dead, have to constantly recharge. does anyone know if it would be ok to disconnect. |

I have disconnected mine all the time, or get a battery tender, they work great. The only that would happen you lose your radio stations and the brain for the tranny will go through a relearning process, no big deal. Hey, Welcome to the POA. Happy Holidays ------------------ |

I have disconnected my batteries several times while working on my car. The longest was overnight, but never had any problems, just had to reset the clock.!! I'd suggest you click on the search link and type in Winter Storage. There are several good suggestions from members who have stored their cars over the winter. Be sure you are searching in all open forums, not just one. Happy Prowling Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

I turn my battery off all the time - no problem except you have to reset the clock. Put a "green knob(kill switch)on and just turn the knob to disconnect battery Makes a good anti theft device too. JRL '99 Red |

Thanks to all of you, you were of great help, One more question, I have a kill switch, is it better to put it on the negative or hot side? HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY |

The battery tender is the best option, but i have disconnected my battery at shows for up to 4 days..so far no problem. It does have to go thru a relearning cycle and might run rough for the 1st mile or so. I run mine hard after disconnecting so it will learn the HARD WAY...LOL ------------------ |
