Bob' I may be mistaken, but I don't believe D/C put hood prop rod's on the Prowler after the '97-'98 model run. The '99's and newer all came with pneumatic prop rods the same as on the rear deck lid and on the trailer. ------------------ |

Harry; Hate to say it but you are wrong. I have a 99 and i have a prop-up rod.I believe that the nuematic cylinder openers were on the 2000 and later models. |

BKG, What can I say --- old age & altzheimers does strange thinge things to a persons memory. Seem's as though I'm prefacing more and more statement's with "I may be mistaken" just to be on the safe side. Thanks for clearing this up and keeping me honest. ------------------ |

You're both sorta, kinda right... The hood props were phased in the mid 99 production. Tom Mills makes a conversion kit for those of you with the old hood prop rod wanting to change. There was a lot of talk a while back about the gas hood props deteriorating at colder temperatures. I've already had to replace them on three of my cars because the hood would not stay open. My Cat was built in July of '98 and I have the prop rod. I think I'll just keep it that way. The gas cylinders do deteriorate over time. ------------------ |

My car was built in June of `98. It was prepped for the gas shocks to replace the prop rod. Not sure exact time they changed but it was about the time the black cars were built. Fall of `98. I have Tom Mills Gas Shock kit on my car to eliminate the prop rod. I have had it out some in the last few weeks since it has gotten colder and I notice the hood is easy to close, but it still stays up. ------------------ |

Boys and girls, I have been limiting my posts lately as the recent subject matter does not seem to lend itself to humor however, I couldn't let this one pass. Firstly, my car is a 2001 and when you start talking about "prop rods" I do get vitally interested in this subject matter. Secondly, as to problems that are memory related I would say to all of you youngins that it is best to focus only only one or two areas and you will see that your memory will be far more functional. In any case my 2001 certainly does not have a rod. If you feel that a rod would add to my overall experience I would be happy to have one installed. As it is, I have not had much luck lately at the Home Depot and I was thinking maybe a new rod would be helpful. While I am old, I have never been cantankerous as such. The description that depicts someone as a "fart" also leaves me somewhat concerned as again, at my age, that experience could actually be deadly. I was happy to hear that the "old cantankerous fart" was right as it always makes me feel good to see one of my younger brothers proven right. Gotta run now as all of this gaseous talk has made me hanker for a true Boston baked bean dinner and I know exactly where to find a can of those beauties in my pantry. I need to eat them and recover before "dew drop" gets home from her 24 Hour Fitness marathon. Scot ------------------ |

Scot, Good news. Viagra now comes in liquid form, so after a bad day at work you can come home and pour yourself a stiff one. Credit that to Butchcee. ------------------ |

Lately I am not exactly sure what it is that the Home Depot carries. I have not had recent success in finding good looking nymphs' in their parking lot. I have been limiting my outings to the Krispy Cream joint as they have a new honey working there that has the hots for my cat. I've been going down there each morning and having a sugar beauty and then a giant cup of Java. On more than one occasion, when I returned to my car there she was justa sitting pretty in my seat with the shine of the Zino waxed hood reflecting off off her ice blue eyes. She is a fine sight to see in that short skirt that they make her wear with those long gams wrapped around my soft Corinthian leather seat in my Prowler...... Anyway, I haven't given much thought to supplements as she has gotten me hotter than a pepper sprout every time that I have seen her. My Dodge fever is only quelled by the soft cooing noises that she makes when I fire up my 253 horses and up shift into a higher gear. Makes my auto stick hum. Gotta run as Costco has a sale on Charmin 24 pack and I need to stay stocked up as I am still having problems related to that bean that ate about a month ago. Scot ------------------ |

Boyz,Boyz - your problem is that you are cruizin' Home Depot. You need to go only to the ones with the burned out signs that say: HO DEPOT this is where the action is at! Just the other night I pulled in and before shutting off the ignition, four cuties were rubbing their bumpers on my cat and screaming for me to prop up the rod! I was sooo excited, that the seat belt cut off all circulation to my lower extremity, causing some embarrassing moments. Two even asked if I had the extention brace to see? Think they meant the suspension brace, but I went along with them on that one, and said yes I have an extension! The other two asked if I use the auto-stick method, and I replied that I could go either way if they wanted the hands-on alignment of shifting my gear. Amazing how knowledgable these ladies can be! Then, three others came over and asked if I knew MADMAX, who they had seen at that HO DEPOT location, kissing his kitty in the back lot. Due to his reputation, I disavowed any knowledge of his existence. They told me that he (MADMAX) uses the new liquid Viagra, which goes under the brand name of: Mydikadud. Of course I claimed I didn't need the steroid laced liquid, as I have many fine references available. Got to run, I'm filling out my job application info at the HO DEPOT today................ ------------------ This message has been edited by ALLEY CAT on 11-02-2001 at 09:10 AM |

Not to worry Scot, Ed and Al have told me I couldn't carry your jock! But then, I have no plans to do so. You are the best (and oldest) writer we have on this website. I concede that fact, and also may have to eat road kill crow if the D-Backs lose one more game! Pray for me and the D-Backs please!!! |

Mr. Fart, I for one certainly appreciate your confidence in my writing skills but I am beginning to feel that Mr. Cat is surpassing my offerings. I was particularly proud of the technical piece about the ASE chip where I explained my lower cost development the "tater chip." I was shocked when only two people ordered this finely crafted masterpiece. In any case I am pleased to have the opportunity to participate in this board with such distinguished authors as you and The Cat. (DA Cat if you life in Chicago) I gotta run as it time for me to partake in my weekly checkers match with three of the local fresh stuffs that go to the same market as I do. We play strip checkers and wow, the view is fantastic! Scot ------------------ |

quote: Harry - FYI,,,,,,Scot is the creator of "Where's Waldo" on the back of Life Cereal boxes - his life spent in barns and on beaches provides him with the mindset needed for such a challenging career. I on the other hand, write a monthly article for the local SWAP MEET rag found free in those machines near the post office. My intent is to add a glamour, alternate choice to a otherwise boring married life for most couples. My work involves many interviews with the participants, so I relish the fact that this forum is available to me and my apathetic thoughts. Scot - how did we get from prop rods to this??? |
