Could someone PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEASE go run the quarter with the new gears. There, I begged. And yes, I'm hoping for someone who DOESN'T have a charger. If you have NOS, please run once without using it. The poorest Kat owner would like to know if the gears are worth the money. I know most of you can "feel" a big difference, but I prefer numbers. Thanks, if this actually gets someone to hit the strip. Dragstrip that is. ------------------ This message has been edited by JUST JP on 11-02-2000 at 02:21 AM |

The gears will knock off about one second in the 0-60 time from a stock Cat. |

Gary C, Is that from your car, or who's are you going by? I've ran a 15.29 in the quarter, and all I have done is added a K&N filter. I haven't had someone help me clock my 0-60 yet. I'm afraid if I do, I'll be seriously disappointed. I think the car mags times are at least a half second faster than we truly are. ------------------ |

Dean(ProwlerPros) reports that the gears will do as I posted. The car mags reports are more than likely true but they where at a fast track I would bet. |

15.2 is not bad with a 213 cubic inch motor. |

Never do a burn out with stock tires, never run down the middle of the lane(it is toooo sticky) pump up the tire pressure at least 10 lbs if not more(the car will roll better) top up, windows, up cool the car down after each pass This message has been edited by Gary C on 11-02-2000 at 02:24 AM |

If they don't come out I'll try again later. Best in auto: 0-60 6.65 sec. 15.08/93.7. Avg. in auto: 0-60 6.85 sec. 15.32/91.21 Best in stick:0-60 6.67 sec. 15.13/93.4 Avg. in stick:0-60 6.78 sec. 15.25/92.13 My message, GET THE GEARS! Hey Marc, What rpm was you shifting at in the stick mode ? My cat shifts at 6200 In auto and I can take it to 6700 man. Thanks. ------------------ |

Nyle, In auto about 6500 to 6600 rpm and in stick about 6800 to 6900 rpm. I did hit the rev limiter once going from second to third but only briefly. I think the rev limiter is supposed to kick in at 6500 but mine has always gone to 6800 to 7000 b4 kicking in. When I was at the track back in June, without gears my best time was 16.1 and average 16.3. I also noticed some tire squeal a few times yesterday starting out in auto but never in stick. The temperature was 45-50 with wind from the side. I did ten runs going one direction and ten the other direction (5 in auto and 5 in stick each way). Wishing I was in GC, MRCAT2U |

Marc, Thanks for posting the numbers. Please post the estimated corrections when you get them. I'm hoping that the altitude difference is taking off about a second from your times. Let us know, my curiosity is KILLING me! ------------------ |

JP, I used the sight on Dan's website to correct my best time in auto of 15.08/93.7. Am not to sure about all of the conditions at the time but entered several temps, humidity and pressures to see the differance it would make and was only about .1 second and less than 1mph. The times came out as 14.1/100.26. Hope this helps. MRCAT2U |

I miss posted, the gears will take off a full second in the quarter mile, my mistake, I stand corrected. I have my G-Tech and getting new Prowler next week and will do a complete sea level test, before and after the gears. |
