Can't wait until the entire country is full of EV vehicles,, except for your vehicle getting to PARK for 3 hours just to be able to be electrically mobile once again for another 200-300m on max. This was filmed a few years ago in California, in San Louis Obispo, at the Madonna Inn hotel with a charging station right off the 101 highway. Look here at all the folks having fun! Just Waiting their turn to get electrocuted.. Uh, energized, that is.. Just wondering how our electric grid supply can handle |

Been to the Madonna Inn a few times. There's a huge waterfall in the men's bathroom that is the urinal. Pretty cool until women and kids walk in to see it while you're doing your business. |

EV’s, like computers and cell phones will exponentially improve. Most charging will take place at night during off peak hours. 300 is the norm right now with 400-500 mile ranges promised by several manufacturers. The average person rarely goes 300 miles a day, and most households own more that one vehicle. And…….we have all been here to get another 200 miles😂😂😂😂

Remember back when everyone didn't have air conditioning in our homes and busisnesses? As time went by this huge demand for electric grew to meet the demand and infrastructure was put in place to meet the demand. Same thing happened with gas stations. At one time most families only owned one car and as demand grew the gas supply grew with it. Wind and solar energy are being expanded in this country as we speak. |

…my concern has been (well, numerous things) the time to charge on long distance trips…I travel frequently from Florida to Indiana, takes 13 1/2 hours with two 10 minute fuel stops to cover 990 miles….throw in another 1, probably 2 charging stops at a couple of hours each, now your trip has become a two day ordeal plus a hotel and food …numerous scientific issues, …ZERO interest in my future, |

I read that CURRENTLY less than 2 % of our vehicles in this country are EV. That doesn't mean it is true, but that is what the article said. |

A friend stopped by Saturday in his 392 Jeep Rubicon (beautiful) Said he has a Chevy Volt, can’t park it in his garage due to recall & fire hazzard I see nothing wrong with an electric vehicle but would only be a local use vehicle. If planning a trip or needing a tow vehicle either rent a gas / diesel power vehicle or have a second vehicle. I wouldn’t have one due to issues at this time with fires and precautions |

Phil posted this on another thread. Would NOT even think of an electric car, People stand in line hours for a spot to plug their car in. You can have a charging system installed in your home, BUT, only 3 electric car chargers are allowed on each grid which is about 16 homes. We see alot of electric cars breaking down between Los Angeles and Vegas, its about 280 miles thru the desert, and they use the A/C which shorten your milage. They seem to always break down about 40 miles outside of Vegas and need to be towed. Then trying to find an open charging station in Vegas is a joke. Lots of Tesla's in Vegas, but few charging stations. Seems the desert heat at 100 plus degrees seems to lower your driving range. |

I think electric cars will find their place. Might be a good option for the short distance commuter who can rely on their own, in home, charging station. Lots of unknowns at this point. I think it will be some time before electric cars become mainstream, if ever. I do not believe there will be any financial advantage to owning one. Better for the environment? Time will tell. We need to move away from fossil fuel electrical generation for that to happen. Wind and solar is not going to cut it. Nuclear has potential, but I don't see anyone wanting a new one of those plants in their backyards. |

Driving a PHEV. Installed level 2 chargers at both places. The first charges are advertised. ChargePoint lied to me before I purchased and installed the second. It can only charges half as fast because of a lack of Internet connection. I use electric around town and gasoline most of the time. Not the best choice for my driving needs |

Most of East Tennessee was asked to conserve electricity last week due to extreme heat. Tomorrow will be 100 degrees , a record breaker. Sounded like decide on AC or driving. Still having a hard time with EVs not helping with upkeep of roads. |

Part of the last Covid spending package included money to investigate the use of a "pay per mile" tax on all vehicles. I'm sure this is what is coming down the pike. Will it be in addition to the gas tax, or a replacement for? |
