Last year we moved back to Indy area and it wasn't the idea situation but tried to make the best I could out of it Sold our house and that meant everything in my 2 barns had to come north. Should have gotten rid of more than I did, but just didn't have the time Had room for all the cars to sit on the floor and be gotten out without having to move anything else. Trying not to build another building and since I have a 72x44x12 building and 1/3 is insulated and heated but 1/2 of that area is a shop with wood working tools So last year my lift with the Imperial and Dart was in the heated side, the other cars were on the cold side. Could hardly move in the place and my trailer is still over 1/2 full So wanting another lift and talked to a guy about a new lift and seen they had a side by side lift rated at 10,000 lbs Measured my open space in the heated side and it would fit, tight but fit. So this week my new side by side lift was installed and today rearranged and will be able to store all the cars in the heated side this winter. So if you have room for a lift 17'9" wide X 16'6" long and 11' height (watch the cars on top) I have 12'6" height less the lights so probably 12' instead of parking 2 cars in there you can get 4 Dang it my pictures are on my phone. Bought lift from Advantage Lift out of Kansas & they say it is American made ------------------ This message has been edited by WildCat on 05-15-2021 at 08:48 PM |

Looks nice Larry. Did the place you bought from install it or someone local? Do you mind giving installed price? |

quote: The building was built in 1978, have stuff in there probably not touched since...... LOL Time to get a dumpster and start cleaning up. The whole building is full and still have stuff in my trailer. Wanted to get a storage shipping container but at $4,600 delivered a dumpster will be cheaper way to take car of it. And next time I touch it will be the last |

Downsizing is liberating, truly. I've been doing my best lately and making headway. I'd still prefer a huge workshop, but as we all know, 'stuff' accrues to fill available space. These days it's: Bike, car, shop - pick one. :-) |

A sure way to downsize is to move near the beach in Florida. Going from a huge 4 car garage with complete walkup storage overhead to a 2 Car (Ha Ha) Florida garage was a total challenge. My son's Mustang and our Prowler squeezes in, and my wife's Honda sits in the driveway. The work area is tiny. BUT, Florida is worth it, and there are a lot of Prowlers down here. Going to start a new Prowler club, Gulf Coast Prowlers "Gulfcoastprowlers@gmail.com", hoping to coordinate some events. It's a little challenging with so many being Snowbirds though. |

Larry, the side by side has been a thought of mine if I ever expand the collection beyond my floor capacity. I think I can fit 5 more cars before I would have to go up. I think I’m getting ready to sell the 48 foot trailer with the trailer lift inside, since I don’t believe I will be hauling that much anymore. That lift is 12v with a 2000 lbs capacity. |
