We did our good deed this weekend as when we had the Prowler Event in Las Vegas a few years ago, Caesers Palace in Las Vegas gave us several cases of Playing cards. We handed them out in the Goodie bags for those that attended. Well it wound up that I had 3 full cases left and didn't have any idea as to what to do with them as most people play with cards right on the computer. My wife mentioned we should give them to the area Nursing Homes as most of the folks there would use regular playing cards. So Saturday , we spent half the day going to 8 area Nursing Homes and gave them each enough for every resident that lived there. Every single home was so appreciative of the cards , that they could not thank us enough. Two of the homes even invited us to stay for lunch. So just remember if you have anything that these Folks could use. Drop them off there. Also we had 8 bags of clothes we were going to give to Goodwill, but after I heard what the CEO makes, I said screw them. We drove near Disneyland where they have many homeless camps and gave them all the bags of clothes. I have never seen so many smiles on peoples faces |

Great story, Phil..... And I'd be willing to bet that you'll remember your kind act and the happiness it brought (both you and the recipients) for years to come.... God Bless You! |

we have a women that has a place for vets to call home. she never turns them away. right now she has over 70 vets that they call home. she gets no help from the gov. they get any medical help on the grounds. they go to the va for that. it is all donations. they do all the odd jobs on the grounds and buildings. at our car club and snowmobile club we are collecting men's clothes and donations of money. there are a lot of good people on earth. we mostly hear about the bad ones. |
