Linda had to fly to Rochester MN today on business. She flew on Delta. They stole most of her costume jewelry out of her suitcase. What they didn't steal they broke. Really pisses me off. I just want to drive down to the airport and meat out some justice.

Sorry to hear of this happening. Does this happen to travelers on a regular basis? Fortunately it was not expensive jewelry; however, it is disgusting.

My wife travels two weeks a month for work. She never checks a bag for this reason. When we go on vacation, we do not put any valuables in checked bags. I put all my important junk in a backpack. If you seen the characters that handle your bags you would understand.

Rich, you should file a report with the airline as well as with the police - especially if the airline is indifferent about your desire to file a claim.

What airline, Delta?

I only fly Delta and I've never had any issues with my checked luggage. Any jewelry I take, I put in my purse or my carry bag with my ipad, magazines, headphones, etc. so I have it in sight at all times.

Sorry this has happened to her. :-(

As upsetting as it is to have things stolen (am I am sorry to hear this happened to Linda) I guess I know it does happen occasionally. I flew something like 45 round trips last year and have averaged 30+ trips for years and have never had anything stolen. My bags have not arrived at the baggage area 3 times and 2 of those times they were delivered to hotel later the same day.

I don't think there is anything glamorous about flying, it is just a means to get to and from somewhere and overall I think the airlines do an OK job at that.

It can however be frustrating....mechanical delays, weather issue, tired overworked airline employees. But having things stolen from your luggage is a bad employee taking advantage of an opportunity. They will probably get caught eventually but that wont get Linda back her missing jewelry. Hopefully Delta will do something for your situation.

Bummer for sure
Annie had her credit cards stolen out of her purse while she slept on the plane. Thieves are everywhere, even the seat next to you.
