Unless something dramatic occurs, regular gasoline (87 octane) price will hit $4.00 everywhere by June. Cost of production and supply disruptions due to conversion to summer gas will add an additional 10 to 20 cents alone. States that have a wholesale component to their fuel taxes will add another 4 to 8 cents. These givens add 14 to 28 cents no matter what else occurs.

Static sign manufacturers can't keep up with demand for "4"s needed to convert signs. This is pushing more retailers to upgrade to digital signs faster than they had planned.

What happened to the "price will hit $4.00 everywhere by June"??

I'm thrilled even at 3.19 around here and certainly not complaining it did not reach that.

I remember hearing on the news just a few months ago that we could see $5/gallon gas by later in the summer. Yesterday on the news I heard a reporter saying that gas prices will continue to decline and we will not likely see $4/ gallon gas over the course of the next 4 years.

I just don't pay any attention to these news reporters any more.

The local news scours that site with gas prices and posts the 3 lowest every morning. $2.99 and $2.98 were 2 of them. Both were Chavez gas. The $2.97 I saw was a mile and a half from me and was at a Chevron station. Half a mile from me was $2.96 a gallon for gas gift cards, also Chavez gas.

Local convenience store last nite, 2.99 gal (w/ethanol) for regular. First time i've seen it that low since it started spiking. Since Obama got credit for the rise, does that mean he gets credit for the drop???

padroo, Obama does get credit for the lower gas prices. Sadly it's because so many people are unemployed and demand for gas is down and supply has increased. Also his poor ecomonic decisions have hurt the world ecomony. YES, do give him credit for being such a poor excuse of a president.

Dale, you forgot to mention our do nothing congress that has done nothing to earn their wages. If I had employees like them I would have fired them a long time ago.
