When they grew up they both wanted to fight for their country & both new that this was the only job that they were qualified to do in the service. Little did Bell know this would lead him to open the 38 Diner. He never forgot the skills he learned in the service. When it gets busy he calls AC to help him with the spuds but do to his age, AC has to retrained each time. AC still wears that hat to this day.

They couldn't imagine at that time that their Prowler would take them on so many trips, over so many miles, many years later. They don't even need a GPS to travel U.S. Route 66!
