I'm looking forward to the basement. It's where I spent my formative years.......... |

The basement is mainly catfish's favorites (lol)...the Rat Rods. As Bob said, if you look closely at them, there is some very amazing engineering going on there!!! Not so many tuner cars this year (which was okay with). There were far less cars than even last year. The isles are wider all the way around. Used to be you could barely navigate the isles with all the cars and the spectators. Don't forget to see Pete at the SoCal display. He's handing out free autographs. I also bought another copy of the DVD "The California Kid". He autographs them and inside is also a history on how the Kid car was chosen for the movie (written by Pete) and a SoCal sticker. Tell him CJ sent you!!! |

quote: In all honesty CJ, I quit going about 35 years ago because of the crowds. It was like being in the Chicago stock yards. Photos were all but impossible to get. Today was my first trip back. I did not see Chapouris there or I would have made a Bee line to him. There was a gathering of fellow H.A.M.B. forum people in the basement. I was in Heaven down there. |

ED, I'm sorry that we missed you. Pete was short handed and CJ and I helped man the booth Saturday and Sunday. Friday we walked the show. The basement was GREAT! You missed Pete Chapouris, Dan and Ashley Webb, Troy and Jack Trepanier, Bobby Alloway and all the others that were upstairs. Just like CJ introduced you to Tom Gale, You could have added a bunch to your list........Don't forget who your friends are. |

quote: I saw the 56 Crown Vic that Bobby did. Looked around for him, but couldn't find him.. I'm convinced that the 56 is my old car that I sold to a guy in Ohio back in 1980. I still remember the VIN of that car and an idiosycracy on the VIN plate. This message has been edited by Ed W. on 02-27-2011 at 10:12 AM |

Wow! What a long weekend! Never thought we'd be helping at Pete's booth, but they called Sat. morning and asked, so we made a beeline down there. Move out is always chaos and we made it home about 11:30 last night. It was great (as always) spending time with Pete. Ed, Pete was at the booth signing autographs on and off the entire weekend. Sorry we missed you, but we had NO time to leave the booth to try to come down to the basement and catch up with you. They had a great show and we sold LOTS of stuff!! ------------------ The Prowler makes you smile. Why? Because it's focused. It has a plot, a reason for being, a passion. It evokes the hot rod. It evokes the American Dream. This car is the human psyche.
