All,

I have a friend who is selling a car lift. Purchased it in 1996. Made by M.I. Steel in CA and it is called a Modular II lift. I can't find anything about it on the Web. I am always concerned about safety with these things. He has all documentation (paid $3600 for it) etc.

Thoughts ?

John

Hi John -- I bought a used one a few years ago , the best thing I ever bought for my cars,I used the roll around jacks for years ..This is so much better . for me any way .Check the hidro . lines and the locking device that pops in as it goes up .. I don't know if the one you are talking about is a 2-pole or a 4-pole.. the one I have is a 4-pole .I bolted it to the floor . I keep the trailer on it when it is up and park the prowler under it. It might depend on the price??? Its up to You .. Jim ..Ocala Fl.

It is the four post Jim. I need to have a local Lift guy inspect it but for $100 bucks I thought how could I go wrong unless it has a reputation of dropping cars

Sincerely,

John

That was my thought too Gary.... I just remember some lifts did have problems coming down. I will have it inspected and put together by someone in the business.

Thanks,

John
