It is very hard to get some of the trim for these older cars and sometime you just have to get it any way you can the trim on the trunk lid is what I needed this is what I got 3 stuck wheels, 2 flat tires and a pile of mouse poop with tires that hold air some of the others on the Farm I would really like to make a car hauler out of this |

quote: NOT A JUNK YARD ........... these were taken in a barn lot a few miles from home, looks like a junk yard, the stuff really isn't for sale. The grandson of the farmer told Sue about the Dart at a car show 3 years ago and said we could come look at it. His grandfather had passed away and his dad would have to be the one to decide if they would sell anything. I talked to him a few times without any luck on getting an answer as to if his dad would sell anything. Then about a month ago I stopped by again and talked to his uncle, who happens to live at the homestead now and owns the 39 Chrysler and 48 COE and ask him and he said he would have to talk to his brothers (4 of them now own the family farm) 2 weeks ago I stopped again and talked to the uncle and Rod and when I left he said he would talk to them some more and see if they would sell. He gave me a price he was thinking of and I said OK if they would sell it. An hour later he called and said I could have it, but wanted me to wait for the ground to dry up so not sink in the ground trying to get it out. It was finally dry enough and suppose to rain to day so yesterday was moving day. I bought the aluminum wheels from a guy at work (but need the lug nuts (any old a body guys look and see if you have 10 right 10 left 7/16" x 20 shank style lugs with 6.11 dia. and 5/8" long shank for a set of aluminum wheels) The uncle I would guess to be about 70, I enjoyed talking to him. While I was there his girlfriend (I thought was his daughter) has an old Chrysler in a barn that has fallen on it. She wanted to know if I would be interested in it, so I plan on checking it out. All they know is that it is an old Chrysler, they ask Rod if he knew what it was and he said, "Yeah, and old Chrysler" with push button trans. I want to go see what it is, never know what you might find in or under an old barn...........LOL |
