Here's a new product that I've been working on for some time.

I will be producing replicas of the famous Cromwell Racing Helmets that were so popular with racers and hot rodders in the 1945-1955 era. The original helmets are very valuable and are extremely hard to find.
I will begin manufacturing of the new re-production helmets in the next few months. The "Lord Cromwell" helmet is a near exact copy of an original Cromwell helmet that can be ordered with or without lettering, customizing or antiqueing. Standard colors will be limited to Black and White but other colors can be made on special order.
Pricing is expected to be in the $350 - $425 price range. This is much less that you would pay for an original Cromwell even if you could find one.

Please keep in mind that the helmet on the left in the picture below is just my prototype. The helmet on the right is an original Cromwell. There will be many changes made before final production. I needed to see if I was on the right track before making the corrected final new molds and cutting dies.

Is there any interest on the POA for a product like this?

They will be avalable with or without.
In my mind there's no other way. It needs it to have the authentic look and feel.

Larry, will it be DOT approved for motorcycle use. I could use it for classic bike events.

Fastback,
Thanks for your comments. These helmets are almost impossible to find anywhere other than a museum. I expect to sell quite a few.

Tangled,
I think they will sell pretty good but it will take a while to get things rolling.

Kraut,
No DOT sticker for these. There's just no way to make a leather helmet legal to todays standards. A disclaimer will be sewn into every helmet along with contact information on a fabric label. I will be using mine when riding my motorcycle and I do expect to sell a few to other bikers.

Lord Cromwell Helmet on ebay

The helmet pictured is not the one listed on ebay. This helmet is for a good friend of mine.

The look and the feel is authentic. You will think it is the real "original" deal. The prototype I saw had some distress built into the finish to look even more authentic.
